Gameplay
The battle system will be similar to that of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII but will make use of the ATB system and allow control of multiple characters.

A compass has also been revealed in recent screenshots. Characters have been shown traversing dungeons of mechanical foes and soldiers. Playable characters alongside the nameless lead (nicknamed "Card-Kun") are shown in the screenshots with rather high HP and low MP costs to their magic spells in their command list. Like in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII, names of foes are stated under "Target" on the upper-left-hand side of the screen. A recent article by Weekly Famitsu[7] stated that each of the twelve students will have their own summon that can be swapped out and controlled by the player. The summons can also level up; so far, the only confirmed summons are Ifrit, Golem, and Odin, used by the de facto main character. In the Jan. 2011 trailer, Bahamut was seen in battle during a cutscene and an ice summon was seen skating on the battlefield (thought to be Shiva). In a Famitsu interview, Tabata says that, "it's becoming an intense experience where you do gun shooting with fire." He also added that, "Agito XIII will not have the standard multiplayer style of everyone gathering together to play. It will be a multiplayer system unique to this game." [8]

The twelve characters and a Moogle; artwork made by Tetsuya Nomura.Twelve characters have been revealed so far, all appearing to be students. Revealed character names are the card using Ace (エース, Ēsu?), the archer Trey (トレイ, Torei?), the mace wielding Cinque (チンク, Chinku?), whip sword wielder Seven (セブン, Sebun?), martial artist Eight (エイト, Eito?), spearman Nine (ナイン, Nain?), katana wielding Jack (ジャック, Jakku?), and swordswoman Queen (クィーン, Kuīn?). The characters who have not been revealed wield, a pistol, flute, sythe and dual pistols. Two additional characters have been revealed in the latest Shounen Jump magazine named Rem and Machina who wield dual knives and dual swords respectively. Hajime has revealed that there will be 14 playable characters.

The game's plot is thought to be "massive" and is still being finalized as of June 2009.[9][10] The game is set in a magic school named Peristerium School of Magic, and will gradually expand to the larger world outside of the school. It is described as an online RPG, but not "massively multiplayer".[11] It has been revealed that Orience is the name of the world and that the antagonizing military country is called Milites. A peace treaty is supposed to be in effect with the world's four countries, but Cid of Milites has sent his l'Cie soldiers to war with the neighboring countries. Other areas have been revealed called Rubrum, Anaze, and Kogai.[12] Each nation has it's own emblem (two tiges, a phoenix, and a dragon). Tabata described Agito as "a major title that's formed from a variety of concepts" which include the collision of four fantasies (the world view), killing match between magic and weapons (battle) and the Ordinary and Unordinary (the two sides of reality).[13]

From the IGN Impressions of the trailer that was debuted at Square Enix's closed door party, DKΣ3713, it was revealed that there is a militaristic nation that, due to the machination and rallies of their leader, began conquering all of its neighboring nations. The nation went unimpeded until they came across a lone island kingdom isolated from the rest of the continent that was apparently being protected by a giant crystal and is also said to worship a god named Suzaku. However, for reasons unknown, the crystal shatters, seemingly leaving the nation vulnerable to attack. The kingdom's fear is realized when a cloaked figure, supposedly the hero, along with other warriors, appears with a massive army in formation in front of him. The trailer continues with random bits of fighting in CG along with gameplay and ends with the main character sticking a flag, most likely that of the kingdom, into the ground, rallying his allies. It is also confirmed that the nation's military has been destroyed.[14]

Well, it didn't look interesting at first, but I think this convinced me ^^

I still do miss the FF-feeling though... And it looks a bit more agressive, but that doesn't make it worse <3

(oh and there are ANIMALS ! OMG ! finally some animals instead of monsters Very Happy I love those tigers <3)

This game is looking up for me, though, what with a better look into the game rather than the five minute trailer which looked like a Holocaust documentary...not to mention the gameplay looks adaptable and not too difficult, but not as easy as KH2 or X-2.

I didn't have a problem with the game's graphics or voice work I'm talking about how the game suffered because of how much memory the developers had to work with. Most of the towns lacked NPCs, stores and other such places which allow you access to explore if you liked too in town. Summoning was also limited because of the DMW system plus having to fight the same summon 3 times in order acquire it just caused there were only a few to choice from really sucked.

More updates from a friend of mine on another board.

Here's the list anyway, from what I can tell:

The game in general:

* IT'S WAR-BASED.
* An academy (Sorcery Academy) is the player's main base for operations


Features:

* You have a variety of characters to play as, with a variety of weapons for each character (it seems)
* You can also play as summons during battle
* Summons are called Gunshin/Wargods in the game.
* You can use magic
* You can move around freely
* Something about Phantoms--after you defeat an enemy, you can absorb its energy (Phantoma). You use a lot of magic in the game (it seems) and you can dispose of corpses this way and replenish MP
* Kill Sight system - It shows that when the lock turns red, you can fire the enemy and it will die instantly.
* You can switch between characters during combat
* You can only have 3 members in your party.
* There appears to be Crystarium system in the game, according to this article.
* Airships are in the game!
* Airships are flyable and fast!
* Airships have firepower!
* Airships can fly up and down!
* And guess what? YOU CAN GET YOUR OWN AIRSHIP.
* There are both controllable and uncontrollable airships.
* You can visit cities and go shopping in the game with Airships
* Unique Multiplayer Mode (includes Multiplayer Missions, which is optional challenge)
* Chocobos are ridable
* Multiplayer-You can have other players to join and co-op with you for a short time!


Characters Known

* Sice is female and is a scythe-user, with silver-ish hair tied up and her bangs are on one side.
* Rem is female and is a dual-dagger specialist, also uses magic;even capable of dual-cast at about the beginning of the game. She has brown hair and seems to be a very important character in the game. She can hold her daggers backwards.
* Queen is female and is a sword-wielder;very fast. She has long, black hair with glasses and a green hair clip.
* Machina is male and is a "Bolt Rapier" specialist, adapt at fast combos, has dark blue/black (?) hair. He also seems to be a very important character in the game.
* Nine is male and uses a lance. He has short, light-brown hair and his bangs are on one side of his face, and his face has a scar on the center. He appears to have a laid-back personality(another picture).
* Ace is male and uses cards and magic. He has blonde hair, and he is young, yet mature and a serious speaker.
* Trey is male and uses a bow and arrow. He has hair like Ace's, except it's very blonde and his bangs are on one side of his face.
* Cinque is female and uses a mace. She has reddish-orange, wavy hair.
* Seven is female and uses an extending chain whip or something. She has grey hair that seems to be shoulder-length.
* Eight is male and uses a pair of knuckles, and has short, red hair.
* Jack is male and uses a katana. He has blonde hair that goes back, and his bangs goes backwards, showing his forehead.
* King is male and uses a pair of guns, he has long light-blonde hair.
* Arecia Al-Rashia is a sorceress who is the head of the academy. She has black hair with a large purple headband.
* Gilgamesh is a l'Cie of the Genbu Crystal
* Odin is a military god
* "Cranberry Knights" are a group of Moogles who will give commands from the Rubrum's military command.
* Kurasame appears to be the teacher(?) of Class Zero, with....a Tonberry sidekick? He has dark blue hair and a mask that covers his mouth, and wields a sword.
* An unknown girl with one handgun and short red hair.



The game will be released in Japan during Summer 2011.

Demo is pretty sweet. You start out with Rem, but you can pick from her, Nine, Sice, King, Ace, Machina, and Queen

Machina - Twin drill swords
Sice - Scythe
Nine - Lance
Queen - Rapier/saber
Rem - Twin Daggers
King - Twin Pistols
Ace - Cards (on motorcycles)

I tried everyone, and have stuck with Machina since. What a Face

The Demo is surprisingly easy to pick up, even if you can't read one word of what they're saying. Trial and error won't harm you at all, unless you sell your potions.

So far, my favorite character to use is King. With the way the battle system is set up, he can counter enemies for some major damage easily. You can do the same with other characters, but King can hit targets from a mile away with his pistols.

Ace is pretty much broken any way you look at it, he can cancel any of his actions pretty quickly and has a damaging combo that is really easy to land hits with.

I'll give the demo a try. I was a little interested in seeing how this game would turn out because they're bringing the ATB gauge back but the story and characters sound like it's going to be Valkyria Chronicles on crack and I did not like Valkyria's story whatsoever.

All I know is that Gilgamesh is a major part in the story or he's some sort of super boss and that makes me say, "OMG, GILLY GETS MORE SPOTLIGHT!!!".
