School Pranks
This belongs here, I think, because I take this topic very seriously. I think it's the most absurd thing I've ever had to put up with through high school. I think this shit is the furthest thing from funny, especially when taken too far like my old school just did today.
As some of you know, I recently signed out of school to get my GED (General Education Diploma), and have had separation issues since then, but that's beside the point. So I've been disconnected from the school aside from what I hear from friends on facebook. I sign on today to find several posts about a riot that took place about 11:45-ish this morning. A kid threw food, which instigated a food fight, which turned into individual fist fights, which then turned to 70% of the students in the cafeteria to run through the whole building screaming, blowing air horns, pulling knives, shooting silly string, breaking windows, and defacing the cars in the parking lot.
This is not the only thing that's happened at the school this year. There's been graffiti, lots of fights, and other types of vandalism and disturbing the peace. Kids at that school have gotten too far out of control, and the principal decided to possibly cancel graduation this year and to deny diplomas to everyone involved, not to mention arrest all of them.
So, I ask to those that get a kick out of this stupid shit...what the HELL is so funny about this!? In what way is this exciting in any beneficial way? In what way are you supposed to look back on this 20 years from now, and think, "I'm so glad I did that, because it's helped me achieve great things". all this does is deny you a diploma, denying you college, denying you any shot at a good job. Not to mention, you SHOULD lose respect from a lot of people, because riots aren't funny, they're illegal.
I think these kids should feel absolutely horrible for costing other kids who didn't do anything their diplomas and the right to walk across the stage in the cap and gown. I hope they look back on this 20 or so years from now and think, "Why the hell did I do that?".
For those curious, the police were involved, approximately 10 cars according to photo evidence. Around 5 hospitalizations, and rumored arrests. And the cafeteria took two hours to clean up.

Re: School Pranks
I hailing from the same school a year prior am also terribly disappointed by this news. When in history did it become a good idea to do such a thing? A simple prank like 2011 where all they did was write a small message on car windows with window chalk, would have been fine, and the food fight I might have let go of. But a full scale riot, assault, and not to mention lethal weapon possession. 'Tis a sad day...
