LGBT Empty LGBT

Post by Claire Wed Jun 23, 2010 7:52 am

I'm pretty sure we've all discussed this time and time again, but it's still a topic that means a lot to me.

For those new to the topic the acronym 'LGBT' stands for Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Trans, a society most of the world does not get along with. I admit to being a part of the Trans group, I feel more comfortable in a dress than I do pants, it just feels natural to me. Smile We don't receive as much attention as the Gay & Lesbian people do, but we have our share of pressure, I suppose. Somewhat because a portion of us still find romantic and/or sexual interest in women, we just feel closer to them than a typical male does, at least I believe so.

Saying all this, though, I am not in any way ashamed of being a Tranny, instead, I can't imagine myself any other way. I've also gotten a lot of friends after coming out of that dreaded and dusty closet. xD I do have to admit, that I felt a hatred for males when I first realized my true self. I truly believed men were scum and that the world would be better off with just women, but after living like a woman for a while, I realize that the world is pretty balanced, women have just as many flaws as men do. There is no "dominant gender" as I put it, good thing, too, I suppose.

And after realizing this, I found myself getting along with a good number of men, straight and gay. I still don't have a romantic or sexual interest in them, but I can at least make friends with everyone. Smile

So, I am a member of LGBT and a defender of our pride and rights. How's about you guys? Any stories?

nope Im straight, I don't mind LGB's, but i suppose i still feel a bit indifferent to them. I don't mind gays having rights, it doesn't bug me, the things that bug me with gays are showing too much public affection or flamboyant personalities, but this applies to everyone i suppose, not just gays, it just seems to show up more in that community. As for trannies, i haven't known or dealt with any, so it is hard to say, but ya i do think it is weird, but i guess i just wouldn't understand. As for your situation TxR, you sound more like a crossdresser than a tranny, when i think of a tranny i think of a guy who feels like they should have been a woman, therefore are attracted to guys

People just have to be themselves, LGB's shouldn't be ashamed Wink (okay, when I'd see some men kissing in the streets, I've got second thoughts, but straight peeps can overdo things too ^^")

I don't know if I told this before, but I've got awesome friends. One of these friends is a girl I can tell everything to. She's seen as a "weirdo" (me too, though xD), but I like the way she is.
One day I was at her home (we have our "drawing hour" every tuesday :3) and she wanted to tell me something -very important-.
She said she was in love with an other friend of ours ^^' (a girl too). The first 10 seconds I was kinda shocked when she told me she thought she was bi (she feels attracted to boys too) , but then we talked about a lot of other things and I almost forgot it.
Guess what ? Nothing has changed. She's still the same as before ! (and she has a boyfriend now Wink)
Okay, maybe it isn't so much fun for our other friend, but still...

I think LGTB's are getting more and more normal in our society. Our new premier is gay ! (he even had a relationship with a 15-years old.. but maybe that's gone a little too far xD)

Well I have two lesbian mates and a mate whose brother is gay. They are a laugh and I get along with them well.

I'm just going to say live and let live. It doesn't offend me because I know that its how other people want to live, thats the whole point of life aint it, living it the way we want. After all I don't think a gay guy would get offened if I mentioned how much I like b**bs, so hearing he likes c***s shouldn't offend me.

@Zack, common mistake, but I don't think sexual interest really affects whether or not I wish to be female or not. I would like to be a lesbian, but I've given up trying to change my body, wouldn't feel right changing my sex when I'm already so far in life. Sometimes I cry about it, but I know that I should complete the life I've got now and hope for the next life to be better. That is, if it works like that.

Two girls kissing are freakin awesome.

I used to um... i guess *date* a lesbian and it's awesome just to watch em go at it.

As for me? Straight. Will I like to ride on cocks like a cowboy on his favorite horse? Nah. Exit only. Shit not dick for that part. But I don't have a problem with gays.

I don't have a problem with what you do either, Therath. As long as you realize that all genders have faults. Staright, not straight, aliens, vampires, whatever, no one is perfect. Understand that, and the whole world will love it when you make that sound.

I can't deny that I will feel kinda strange if I heard one of my friend is a gay or lesbian. But I'm fine by it, eveyone have their preferences and somehow I feel somekind of respect for the people who have the courage to admit it.

But it will be a long time for my country, if not imposible, to accept that. Just a while ago there's a plan for a conference for Gay and Lesbian and some religious group immediately protested and even went to the hotel where the conference is going to be held to prevent it.

Well, at the end, the mayor forbid the conference because of norm and all that.

In the US, all you get is people talking shit, I always have a good comeback. One guy walked up to me and goes, 'You know, you're a fucking faggot.", I replied with, "That's not what your moms said last night."

He walked away. :p

i completely understand you ! im just in the opposite side of the ball court. i went through a phase of... well. wanting to be a guy in the worst way. but i live in a very strict household. my fathers word is law. cause he was raised roman chatholic so if i said something like that i think i would be drown in holy water. so i just did wat i pleased. i worse guys clothing ((soooo comfy!!! still do! from time to time)) and cut my hair short... i dont really want kids that bad... since im anemic it would be very hard for me to preggers before i hit the age that i internal bleed till death or get my uterus removed anyway. but sincerly i always wanted to be a guy... and its not so i could date women nessicaryly... i just want to be a gay guy ^^; i came to terms a while ago that wasnt going to happen... my hair is much longer now. almost to the middle of my back. and i found myself a lovely guy ^^ but i think our relationship works so well because... in a sense i took on the males roll in some sports of our relationship. yes hes stronger then i am but that doesnt keep him from curling up on my shoulder when we cuddle or sleep. or me wrapping my arm around his shoulders in a movie. ((haha he would kill me to know im saying all this XD)) but thats why we make such a great couple in my opinion... he knows ima yaoi fan girl all the way and doesnt do anything to stop me hahaha ^^

so~! to answer the question~ i have no problem watsoever with LGBT's ^^ i have lots of friends that are gay or lesbians bi or trannys... hell my best friend i thought was a guy till she pulled her shirt tight and showed that she did indeed have boobs XD

Let people be who they wanna be, don't force your way of thinking on them. My only problem is if someone is gay and they have to get in your face about it. We're becoming more tollerant of it, it was way worse in the past and soon we'll be over it.

All we need is patience, society will always recommend we live a certain way, but we can still ignore them.

Most people wish they were born different, but you can't change genes, and desires can be just as difficult. :p

so, gay people, straight people, bisexual or transvestites, they all have they're own ways of life, and I'm tolerant of all of them (transvestites i'm still working on, i admit, they creep me out a little.) like nemo said, society says that its wrong but society can kiss my non-conformist ass. LOL.

I used to be Lesbian, and now look at me. A little boy with a fiance Smile I can truthfully say Gays, Lesbian's, Tranvestites, Transgenders do not bother me at all. Each and every one of those people are a human being inside, just because they prefer the same sex or want to be a different sex doesn't make them any different in my mind.

What really bothers me though is that most women don't care if a women is a lesbian but, guys can turn round to gay guys and insult them all names under the sun. I hate how stereotypical some guys can be like that.

Much as I'd like to agree, I've seen girls turn quickly on lesbian girls, too. I don't see it as often, but it does happen. I see what you're trying to say, though. I'd be Bill Gates rich if I had only a nickel every time someone called me fag simply cause I don't work out.

hm...I agree with everything that's been said...and as most of you know I am a lesbian myself...so I am a big supporter or LGBT rights...we are all the same...the only problem I have are those who give us a bad name...like they do shit just to do it...and are overly obnoxious because they know it offends people...but here in my home town people are really tolerant of the way things are we even have a LGBT bar/dance club here...and they have shows with tranny's almost every night... but plain and simple love it love...let people do what they want with whoever they want...as long as everyone is happy that is all that matters...and Therath I'm glad that you aren't ashamed of who you are...because that is who you feel you should be...we all should be allowed to do what we want...I get called sir all the time just because I wear men's clothing...and have short hair...it used to actually offend me but the way I see it, it's all how people look at things....and I feel sorry for those of us who are trapped in countries where it's illegal or they get critized for just loving someone...

Never ashamed of who I am, I was ashamed that even I wasn't able to accept it until just a few months ago. Some of my friends are embarrassed to know me sometimes because I get a little too enthusiastic over cute clothing.

I was amazed to find out that some members of the Lesbian/Gay portion of LGBT felt the same as I did, but in their own way. I would love to be a woman for many reasons, to fit the clothing better is the main one, also I just want to be a girl because I just don't feel right in my own body. I will not however get the surgery done on me, because A: it's not natural to me, B: too expensive, and C: it still wouldn't feel right because my...parts wouldn't be as they naturally should, in the sense that it isn't a vagina, but an imitation.
Anyway, some people wish they could change genders for reasons such as mine, or for relationship reasons and just because they don't feel right in their own body. I don't want to change for relationships because I'm not cut out for relationships, but I'm also not interested in sex, period. But, like everyone, I have raging hormones that act on their own and as a guy, it's just painful for your body to do something that you don't plan on ever doing. Of course, all women have menstrual cycles even though some don't plan on ever having children, so it's even either way.

I'm monologuing, so someone else take over. ;3

I can understand what your saying.... I love to wear men's clothing because they are comfortable...as a lesbian I tend to relate better to men...which makes me more than likely the butch one in any relationship I get into....but like you I would never get a sex change...(even though the though has crossed my mind.) It's just not who i am...I like my body and who I am and I have made a decision that I am gonna be who I am and do the things I like and be damned with every one else...well I mean everyone who has a problem with me being a lesbian. We all have raging hormones men just can't hide when they are aroused as easily as woman and it could be embarrassing... but trust me when you find the right person that you want to have sex with it will be worth it! lol but I myself feel comfortable in body...I like who I am and I wouldn't change a thing about it... good point karena i agree fully ^_^

its not your fault if you ever feel ashamed its the people who dont accept who you are and make you feel bad by bringing religion into play and what not. i have never felt ashamed for being a lesbian, if it is who i am and what makes me happy then that is all i need to know, i have been teased and taunted by both men and women and all i could say to the men is that you are just jealous that i get more girls than you ever will and that the girls are in denial lol but i live and dance in my rainbow land freely and i never want to stop ^_^

I think mainly it depends on what areas you live in. As for near Leeds where I live in the UK. Women aren't harassed or abused for being a Lesbian but most of the men I know are for being Gay that's what annoys me about the area I live in.

Live and let live! Everyone is a human being in the end and people should learn to see it that way.

*shines rainbow belt*

I actually have one, so I have the right. Very Happy I want a rainbow shirt, for the gay pride day.

I do need to say something, even though it doesn't really matter. But sometimes people call me gay and they weren't off at one point in my life. I've fallen in love with a guy before, we're just friends now because I realized I didn't like men at all. And I'm also guilty of admiring male celebrities simply because I found them charismatic and mostly because, since they're celebrities, I found them talented. Main examples would be hyde of L'Arc~en~Ciel, GACKT, and Bill Kaulitz of Tokio Hotel.

I also have the attitude of a teenage schoolgirl, always hyper, giggly as hell sometimes, and I go apeshit over dresses. So, I can see why people would make the assumption taht I'm gay, but it pisses me off that people would jump to that without thinking I just wanna be a lesbian. -.-

Well congrats bro, you sure don't worry about what you say.
^that right there was a lot of guts. Pretty brave for a man to admit and have no fear. Though I'm sure as you said earlier, that's a thing of the past, but bravo for the honesty. I applaud you sir.

I'm just curious as to whom you were referring to there, but you don't have to say.

I've never really had any kind of relationship ever so I can't say. (never)
My opinion is what it is and it isn't popular, but I'm just dandy being the only one who gets me.

I'm straight as can be so this topic confuses me sometimes, but I suppose I like hugs and sentiment with "men and women" more than most guys, (a lot more) and I get the feeling most men are typically bothered by it... And it really seems like isolationism more than trying to puff out manliness. People ought to have a bit more comfort with their persona, but oh well.
I blame them less due to the state of this world currently.

Just figured I'd get that off my chest since everyone's doing their own spiel.

Anyone feel the same?
