collector's editions

do you think that it is worth it to buy a CE of a game? If so why? and what CE's do you have
I have the Gears of War 2 CE, which is ok, it came with a steel case, an art book, and behind the scenes disk. Fable 2 CE, which isnt really worth it, just some behind the scenes stuff. Mass Effect 2 CE which is awesome, it has a ton of free dlc and interviews, etc. and the bioshock 2 CE which wasn't that great, it came in a huge package and had a record, some posters, an art book, and the soundtrack for the second game--all instrumentals

I don't like getting collectors editions, I'm not that kind of guy. I don't need 30 shitty little postcards and folded up miniscule posters of a game I bought because I'd never keep it or even hang it on my wall. Sometimes the CE comes with some good stuff like maps, soundtracks and free downloadables so then it's worth it. I'm just super cheep and I have a low budget so I can't but this crap.

It usually depends on how much I want the game and if I like what the CE has to offer.

I got the Collectors Edition for FFXIII in the UK and it came with a soundtrack CD, plus artwork and a guide. It was pretty much worth it.

Well I figure that if a person wants the Collector's/Special Edition of a game, then what's to stop them from getting it? Some of the content is worth it, some of them not so much. I got the Starcraft 2 Wings of Liberty Special Edition box set. (Number 318,869 according to the Jim Raynor Dogtag) Some of the content like the art book i was impressed with, other content, like the World of Warcraft exclusive mini-Thor pet, not so much, but hey the game is still good.

I would've been well happy with the Mini-Thor pet but, that's because I love WoW =D
