Light and Dark guidlines.

What is light and drak rp.
We need to make a group outline.
So that every one has a guideline of what they can and cant do in either category.
I suggest all the mods put in there own ideas about what each is about and vote on what will work the best so that we can do our jobs better.
Its just a suggestion. I have gotten a few questions form a few members and felt this would be best. To add to the main sight guidelines.

I never considered this might confuse someone, but if more than one person doesn't know light from dark, then it's a good thing you mentioned it.

The biggest differences are basically a jump from a PG-13 to an R rated movie or game. violence, language, sexual themes, and whatnot. But if we're going to be specific, I'll need to think about it and go in-depth.

For Light RP's the content should be anywhere from G to PG-13 rating. There is swearing and fighting but absolutely no gore. Little blood here and there but no chopping people or animals up into tiny pieces.

For Dark RP's, the rating is R but there are still limits. No sexual content can be typed. Sexual acts can be assumed and you can post a simple, "They made love that evening," but no posts involving having orgasms or giving someone a blowjob. The characters can say, "That was great," or "Worst Sex EVAR," but do not describe the dirty deed. There is gore but there's a limit as to that's too much detail. Pretty sure we wanna keep as much gore off the site as possible (I think it's stated in the site rules). Limbs can be lost, there can be blood but don't go into extreme detail on entrails oozing out of a person or literally buckets of blood pouring out of a person like a firehose.

I agree too. That's basically how I looked at it, but I don't RP anymore, so y'all can take his word on this.

I hardly go into the rp's so I could care less, but I guess I could understand where ppl don't want it too graphic----I also don't really care bc this is such a tight knit group that it shouldn't be that big of a deal, and if we have a problem we should be able to tell that person without complaining to "mods", nor do I have mod power, so ya doesn't affect me

We never really stated any rules in the RP's and just assumed Light RPs were clean RPs and Dark were the brutal ones. This is what it should be now so we no longer have any problems should new comers jump in or if the Admins are doing a sweep around the forums to clean some of this shit. Karena wanted some of this crap cleaned up and we gotta do it. So calm down.

We understand yer pissed Erel but I thought we all came to an agreement that we need to clean up a little. Not an excessive fucking amount but enough that we aren't affending someone.

The only reason i originally asked about whether the light rp's should be containing fighting or not... was because i could remember how the rp rules were set up on FFD... and i thought (for some reason) we might have been trying to use the same type of rules....

also it was because on a thread that Nemo made in the rp headquaters where you could post your rp characters the templates said

Weapons: (un-needed for light rp)

so when i read that i assumed that light rp's were meant to not have fighting (which in turn reminded me of the rp rules from FFD)

I think Light RP can have a brawl every now and then, in case the RP involves drama, but anything involving war or just plain senseless violence should be kept in the Dark section.

I had never originally written rules for the RP section, since I have a high tolerance for basically anything and I don't RP like said earlier. So I never gave anyone any warnings pertaining what content is appropriate or not, it's no one's fault, really.

That sounds good to me ^^ Basically what we have been doing in our RP since we agreed to tone down all sexual/graphic/violent content.

Alright, I'm on board for this. I say that since Erel, Taintz and Aka are the main RPers of the site that you guys should be the ones to make sure no more bullshit happens in the RP section. I'm fine with keeping the raiting M, but don't go further... if ya know what I mean.

Yes. M rating is only allowed in the RP section and there should be at least a <WARNING> message or something in the first post to let members who read it know this is going to be more mature than other RPs..

Well glad to see that the rules have changed a bit. Rarely got into rps here cause of the strict rules basically. Especially since I come from an RP site where it can go into almost X rated content if a seal of protection is used on the thread(aka passworded thread). Maybe I might start rping again here.
