I was a big fan of the original series. Well I actually watched it later than everyone, WAY later like around 2000's so I was a later fan, however when I did watch it, I enjoyed it a lot.

It is quite demented and certain characters *SHINJI* you just want to choke the fuck out. However Misato and Asuka are the characters I wanted to watch the show for.

Well, they are doing a rebuild as some of you know. Eva 1.0 "You are {not} Alone" and Eva 2.0 "You Can{not} Advance" came out. 1.0 had minor changes, 2.0 had MAJOR and A LOT of new scenes. I have mixed feelings with the changes they made. I won't add spoilers for those of you who haven't watched it and want to watch it, but for one I don't udnerstand the need to change Asuka's name. And I'm just hoping that Asuka will be in Movie 3 and 4. That is all.

Well...if I remember correctly this isn't the 1st time they have made changes to the original version ...the movie was the real ending that the studio/company wanted for the series.

If the movie was the real ending they want, well I'm glad they are changing the story DRASTICALLy.

As I watched 2.0 over and over I realize that I am starting to like what they are doing. Besides, I watched the very end and had a 'preview' for the next movie and it looks promising.

I think that I may have sort of an answer as to why they changed Asuka's name...this is just a theory but I think that Asuka can be use as a first or last name. I was under the impression that Asuka was a girl's name until I watched Gundam Seed Destiny..the name of one of the main characters is Shinn Asuka! At first it didn't seem weird since I have meet a few girls with guy names but no one ever called him Asuka in the entire show so this why I think they changed Asuka's name.
