Dead Island

Action FPRPG set on a tropical zombie infested Island.


So anyone else got it yet, if so what do y'all think. Personal I found it hard to get used to at first but I'm slowly becoming hooked. Mainly loving how the game uses sound and builds tension, as well as how the enemies actually try and trick you too. All in all a cracking game and will probably (in my opinion) be one of the best this year

It's gotten solid reviews, this is one of those games I'm going to get on Red Box when I get the chance, I just don't know if its worth 60 bucks

It's amazing but the only problem is the saving system is screwed up with the online system. Most people after trying to/having joined/been joined in Co-Op the game might stop saving the data. Even if the other player(s) leaves, the game doesn't resume saving.

Which I have to admit was highly annoying (getting 5 chapters and 10 levels ahead only having to be knocked right back to the beginning because of a bug), especially once you realise that the main element of the game is to play in Co-OP (for the full story and experience (story cutscenes always show 4 characters and 9/10 you will be outnumbered on your own)). However once this problem is solved (if it ever will be) then I of course will go back to seeing this game becoming one of the biggest hits this year.

Shame really, however I heard, like most "must have/highly anticipated titles" it was rushed for an early release.

Been playing this single player, as we only have one XBox. Pretty good so far, bit glitchy at some points, its just like Borderlands and Left 4 Dead combined lol.

it is available on ps3 too tho isn't it? Like I said I will play it sooner or later, but right now, I'm spending too much time on Deus Ex and Singularity

Yeah it's out on PC, PS3 and XBox. We should have really gone for PS3 version cause it keeps signing us out on live because of all the users on the server.

That would be a problem with the game's servers tho wouldn't it? Not xbox live

Yeah but it only seems to do it on XBox never does it on my brothers PS3 when he plays it.

huh, strange, I'm guessing maybe it's more crowded on the xbox servers, I wouldn't think they would be smaller or slower...

As I mentioned the online fuction is what needs to be patched. On the PS3 version you can connect to other games and stuff but there a high chance that afterwards you're game will stop saving and you won't earn trophies. I'm guessing with the XBox version it just knocks you offline on ocassion

Its been alright lately, only 32% on the main plot line but really good. Loving the new additional enemies too!
