Think I'm losing my touch...
Made this a few minutes ago using my usual method, but I think I screwed up here and there. Dante's face is way off from the rest of the render and especially the rest of the sig. It also seems a little too bright in some spots, but I really didn't know how to fix it without throwing off the rest of the render...
One of the bigger things that screws up every sig I make, is the Stroke I use for all the borders since I have no idea how to do that. For some reason, though, it doesn't appear around the whole sig, it just spots in one or two places and makes it looks really lazy...any help for this is appreciated.
This is only my opinion, but I wanted some input from the other sig makers here, and even if you don't make sigs, I'd still like your two cents. :/

I think I'm losing mine. I feel no need to keep making sigs. Maybe it's because I found one I like so much. Idk, maybe you're getting that feeling of, "I've made the best sig in my mind, no need to keep doing it"

Re: Think I'm losing my touch...
That's probably got something to do with it, I'm not switching sigs near as much as I used to cause the newer ones are soooooo much better than they used to be. Not godlike yet, but they're much better than the loads of crap I was pulling out of PhotoBucket...

Re: Think I'm losing my touch...
Well, the biggest problem I had with it was that I oversharpened Dante's face and made him look much older than he actually is. And like I mentioned before the Stroke function doesn't seem to work anymore...
Re: Think I'm losing my touch...
Well, I can't make signatures yet because i don't understand photoshop yet, but what you have looks nice.

Everyone has trouble understanding that program, there's probably a hundred brushes I haven't even touched yet.
A while ago, I tried to start editing my text, but I find it works better when it's just readable and fits the color theme. White goes with everything, so I usually just go with a plain Arial text and white color.

Re: Think I'm losing my touch...
Exactly, white = neutral colors, meaning that they can generally go well with almost every other shade on the spectrum, only with other bright colors like yellow does it tend to fail there miserably.

True.
Made a sig for our own LeonKnight yesterday and I loved everything about it, and I fixed the Stroke problem.

Distort/Wave/Square, I use it a lot to put more flare into a background layer. Doesn't always work, though, I got lucky with that particular one.
Re: Think I'm losing my touch...
yeah, I like how that one took the guy's face and made it look almost like an old photograph.

Re: Think I'm losing my touch...
Well I really really love your sig/avatar style ! I don't see the difference, but maybe it's like drawing ; sometimes I got the feeling something works very well and sometimes some pieces creep me out. It might help taking breaks or getting inspiration by looking at other art/ music.
I noticed when I try to do my best, I always fail and when I don't.. xD

Re: Think I'm losing my touch...
I rather like this one, and the one I made for Cap'n, keep trying newer and newer tricks and it works out every now and then.
Also, if anybody is interested in the render for Aya Brea I used for this sig, here's the link.

very good, i like how you use brushes and designs with a certain degree of easiness, and not overdoing it and making the picture a wreck.

Re: Think I'm losing my touch...
that Ava one is simply amazing...not gonna lie
and yes i love the one u made me =D. And about the dante one, just use a different dante render also he is quite old in DMC2 to be honest so don't feel bad about making him look old

Using the Gradient Tool and Blending Options makes things easier, but there is a certain amount of patience involved.
Re: Think I'm losing my touch...

Re: Think I'm losing my touch...
I think i'm getting better at photoshop myself, I just put together that lower banner in about an hour, and yes it does lack a little bit, but if there is one thing I know how to do, its take plain text, seriously when i first typed it, the text was white and flat, and now it looks kinda like its going to pop off the banner itself, also if you notice, the border isin't a solid bar going all the way around the edge, but instead a faint blue glow, it suits the rest of the image and you can see it clear enough, without it being too obvious. (and btw nightmare, that was the one I was talking about on messenger. :3 )
