Squall, truely the combo master?
In the japanese version Squall's title is called Combo Master, instead of relentless revolver. So in your guys opinion is our gunblade wielding champion truly deserving of the title?

Well, if you're opponent is inept at blocking yes.
I dunno about the Jp version, but In the US you can block beat fang successively and can dodge heel crush. He can M cancel in JP and that can be devastating, but Its hard to do in US and he has perfectly good combos with ice barret, for example:
(close range) IB> revolver drive
(mid range) IB> blasting zone
(Far range) IB> rough divide
not to mention his BP to BP combos. Unfortunately the only unblockable BP attack he has is incredibly easy to dodge.
This can be alleviated by dodge canceling out of it half way and then use beat fang, just don't be predictable.
I'd say the title is well deserved in the hands of a pro with great input skill.

The thing is, you know how hard it is to block some of squalls physical attacks though? the thing he has for him is the speed that his attacks come out, and you know they are fast as hell...also he has barely any lag at the end of most of his attacks.
And yea Heel Crush is easy to dodge, but more than likely you'll be hit right away with a Beat Fang cause u can easily DC out of heel crush. Also its funny to see the idiots who block Heel Crush, cause they are immediately hit with Beat Fang and with Riposte on...ouch
also IB>Fated Circle for a close range, but i would prefer revolver drive cause of the BP damage you can inflict with it...and quite a bit also..that is if u can steer it good.
The main thing that make people say he isn't the combo master is that he has no BRV>HP...so what? BRV>HP doesn't make someone a combo master...Squall without a question of a doubt is a Combo Master due to his Brv>Brv combos, which he has a fkin lot of.

Thats just it though, he can lead into any ground HP attack depending on distance. Block opponent, Ice barret, hp attack.
Hell, he's one of the most versatile close range fighters in the game aside from Onion Knight.
Though I see trouble against a good, fast, Firion. Shield Bash is "just" fast enough to DC out of and bait the opponents dodge or DC, with Rope Knife (Ground) Reel axe (air) or another shield bash to defeatt beat fang.
Fortunately, they'd have to be astounding to pull it off.

Extremely astounding really...
Though I do have to admit, Firion is one of the harder opponents for me to face, cause of that god forsakened shield bash -.-;(I main Squall xD)

I have to agree with the Firion vs. Squall thing, cause I faced Zane a while ago with Squall and never thought I had to work so hard to beat Firion.
Re: Squall, truely the combo master?
The one key breaker in that match is shield bash. If he sees you coming, its up, if try to bait it with another beat fang? he uses it twice. If you use heel crush or an Hp? doge and rope knife.
The once thing you can get him with is mix up though, But the easiest move to do so with is blasting zone.
But that aside, Firion isn't his only problem match though.
I think its pretty tough against a pro golbez too.

A pro Golbez is tough for anyone...cause of his damned attack style....

You didn't use Shield Bash but twice in the match, neither were successful. Unless that was aimed at Leon.
Golbez is difficult to block, so he's a tough match for me, period. All of his BRV attacks continue whether you block or not, so it's best to dodge aplenty.

Re: Squall, truely the combo master?
u can block his physical attack easily..just if you dodge backwards you are screwed by the magical portion of the attack..glare hand though is tricky since he swipes differently than the rest

I prefer to dodge forward whenever he attacks, since he's left open for just enough time if you pull it off right.
Re: Squall, truely the combo master?
If you block him as the animation starts, the CPU node won't appear

Thankfully Golbez has a more noticeable start-up animation. More noticeable than Squall anyhow.
