PSP News Empty PSP News

Post by RYCloud92 Thu Jun 02, 2011 5:26 am

I was looking for the orignal thread where I mentioned this but seeing as though I can't find it I will start it here.

If you like the first 9 Final Fantasys then they are now all available to be played portable.

I just got onto PS Store (it's back up BTW (no free stuff yet though)) and noticed that one of the latest games to Download was Final Fantasy VI (which I plan to download BTW).

This means you can nearly buy all of the original Final Fantasy games.

Final Fantasy (PSP or PSN Store)
Final Fantasy II (PSP or PSN Store)
Final Fantasy IV (PSP)
Final Fantasy V (PSN Store)
Final Fantasy VI (PSN Store)
Final Fantasy VII (PSN Store)
Final Fantasy VIII (PSN Store)
Final Fantasy IX (PSN Store)

All the games in the PSN store cost the same price (£8 in the UK).

Onto Dissidia DLC, it seems the shop hasn't fully updated that aspect yet, as only the WOL, Zidane and Kuja costumes are still availble.

UPDATE

Scratch that all DLC is availble and it's under the new Final Fantasy section. Only costumes not up yet are Gilgamesh's new costume and Shantotto's (Terra's is available (mayber to promote the release of VI))

I didn't see Terra's, but thankfully, the two DLC costumes I wanted, and the few music packs that interested me are up. So I'm good for now. Trying to save up some more money to get some BlazBlue DLC later this summer.

So freakin' happy that the store is up, it proves that Sony can get beat down, but they can't be killed.

Well I wouldn't say its fully up yet (some downloads are taking their time and the store glitched on me this morning (taking double the amount of money I had wished to pay).

Also you may not see Terra because I live in the Uk and there might be a time delay on it.

Or it may be a EU exclusive, you guys got the Leon outfit I wanted, but we got the Cloud outfit you wanted. >_> Square does NOT know it's clientele.

Anybody who got the Mateus costume, did you notice that his eyes are always closed? Must be a reference to the boss fight or something.

Yep I've got it and I've noticed that.

I don't think this exclusive content stuff will last long, seeing as though Square is losing money (apparantly) they would be dumb not to allow the US to have KH Squall and the UK to have KH Cloud

You'd be surprised how picky some of the directors are at Square Enix. Of course, it would cost money to localize ANYTHING on the market, and they probably wanna keep from losing any more money. If they were truly desperate for money, they would localize the JPN exclusive games they've made. The International versions of FFs and KHs would most likely stay the way they are, though, since most American gamers like to beat a game only once and skimp out on al the unlockable content.

This is a dark day for both Sony and Square and will probably remain that way for the foreseeable future. Someday, we might be restricted to just Microsoft and Nintendo for gaming software.

This stuff here is why i'm kinda glad my PSP died, I mean don't get me wrong, i love the thing, but when you release a game, everyone who buys it should be entitled to the same content, I mean it makes things easy and much more enjoyable considering everyone can get the same thing..............

I agree, simply unlocking the content rather than pay more for it is just stupid, but it's unfortunately good business cause they know we'll do it.

Well that can be said for almost every game that has DLC. Also though when you think about it, when they release a game without having all those extras in it that makes the buyer wish it had what they want on it, so people send the developer feedback, who in turn create said DLC that the user wants, and the developer charges for it to cover the cost of using company resources to create it.............its a rather evil cycle isint it?
Developer makes game.
User buys game.
User wants extra features.
Developer makes extra features.
User buys extra features.
User wants MORE extra features.
Repeat steps 3, 4, and 5 ad infinitum.

It's also a good fall back plan for extra cash.

Make a game but leave data space for DLC.

When running low on money/budget for other project release DLC on said popular (or mayber even unpopular game) game.

However most of the region locked DLC was to reward people for buying the Special Edition, or to entice them to buy the game from a certain shop. (AKA Legacy in the UK for Amano Tifa and KH Squall, gamestop and amazon in the US to recieve Amano Tifa and KH Cloud).

I ain't too mad about DLC, in fact I see it as a way of upgrading an already awesome game. And if theres stuff I don't want I just don't buy it (like the XII music pack for example, or Onion Knights costume). In all honesty the costs are a lot cheaper then other Costume pack DLC's (Like Resi 5 for example, which gives you 2 costumes for £5)

Here in the US, each DLC is like buying a candy bar, only $1.

Same here (0.59p)

On a side note Gilgamesh's DLC costume is apparantly a gift for entering the Japanse Dissidia 012.

I have no cash on PSN yet but the only things I'm getting are the music packs for I-X and Zidane and Laguna's DLC costumes. I'm not interested in some of the other stuff. I might get the music packs for XI-XIII but I'm not interested in the other costumes because,

A) I don't use those characters
B) I don't like the costumes

I want Zidane's Hooded costume the most.

I recommend the XIII pack, it comes with Cocoon de Chocobo and Dust to Dust. The former is for lulz, while the latter is possibly the best track on the game.

Vita will apparantly be able to play old PSP games (most likely digital versions) and load the saves. So the DLC won't be in vain.

The only costumes I didn't download where the Onion Knights and Vann's (cause I just don't like playing as them (I can play as Mateus on rare occasions but Vaan and OK I can't))

Also the Final Fantasy VI music pack was released today in the UK FYI so I assume America will get it soon.

Well thats the plan for the moment. But KH Cloud is a must have for now
