^ It's not really like FF10, FF12 or FF13 it's an MMO RPG even if you buy it you're still gonna have to pay a monthly fee if you want to play it.

I'll give everyone a big tip. Unless you have a laptop that is worth about £3,000 then don't get this for the PC. It will lag like hell unless you have a high enough graphics card that can run this baby.
I suggest waiting till March when you can actually play it on the PS.

Re: Final Fantasy XIV
All I know about this game is that critics DESPISED it. To this date, FFXIV has the lowest scoring of an FF game to this date. If anything for fans of XI, just stay to playing that. Pretty sure there are a lot of people still playing it so the game isn't abandonded so you can jump on a server and still meet people. All I know from friends and reviews of the game, it's like it's half finished and you have to wait for Square to upload updates and whatnot to improve the game.
If you do really want this game, it might be a good idea to wait a little bit so some things can be downloaded from Square HQ. I heard that you couldn't even rent a chocobo when it first released so you have to walk everywhere and there are just sheer ammounts of nothingness for hours before you hit something even remotly like a town.

The games alright in my opinion I believe everyone despises it so much is because of the lag. I don't just mean it's like glitchy lag. I mean you move your mouse and it takes 15 minutes for it to move across the page if you haven't got a top notch laptop/computer.
I will definately be getting the PS3 version because I'm enjoying the questing! but the lag has put me off the PC version.

Re: Final Fantasy XIV
It's good if your in to games like WoW. I guess it's trying to upstage FFXI but that's probably why I like it because I like playing WoW lol.
It's probably one of those games people have to try to rate it imo.

Re: Final Fantasy XIV
its also cause of its learning curve...which is quite steep. You really need to spend time in this game to get even good at it, or even use to it
the learning curve for this game, is about the same as EVE online's....and EVE to this date is the still the most complex MMO out there
