They had snacks and plenty of water for just that. I had two oreos before the extraction and I felt fine afterward, just really, really cold.

well blood is a valuable commodity. I remember watching this fictitious movie where a guy would let snakes bite him, then he would inject himself with the anti-venom , then he stated to another character, "My blood will be worth a lot of money, because its loaded with anti-venoms from almost all of the poisonous snake population."

That was on Ripley's if I remember correctly.

I felt wiped out when I got home yesterday, finally felt the effects of the missing fifth of my body's storage. So I ate a sandwich, drank some pepsi and went to bed.

Yeah they usually tell you to drink something really sugary when you get home because you might experience an adrenaline rush with the side effects of giving blood.
