Voice Acting HELP! Empty Voice Acting HELP!

Post by Claire Thu Nov 18, 2010 8:40 pm

Alright, I've been thinking and I either need to save money for the next year and buy a better video program, or find a decent site that allows download with no risk of viruses in WMV format. >_>

Anybody with recommendations would help.

Voice Acting HELP! Empty Re: Voice Acting HELP!

Why would you record your voice with video programs? That's just stupid, they're not made for quality recording. What is it that pertains to voiceover that you need help with? Because from what it sounds like, you need a recording program. I reccomend Audacity and Wavepad. Both are free (Well, Wavepad's got a free trial but I say it's worth paying) and both have very good recording quality. Only downside to Audacity is you need to download an extra link to turn the audacity files into MP3's and sometimes they come out sounding very shitty. Audacity is a good place to start but Wavepad is a superior program in every way. If you want to get into this business you need a good mic (A USB Mic is fine, I recomend an MXL 990), a great place to record (Free of outside sound and does not echo) and good programs so that you can also cut and edit your work easily so it's professional and not just you rambing sentences in one recording.
