Ultimate Weapon Location?

I was fighting the Ultimate Weapon, but it ran off for some reason and I can't find it, I read on a walkthrough that it runs away and appears in random spots, does anybody know where they are? I'd really like to have Ultima Weapon before even thinking about fighting Sephy.

Like the guide says, it is completely random. Though if u see it stop above this once place and like charge up his attack, its the final fight. Just fly around untill u meet the bugger

Actually it does that light beam thing everywhere except it's final destination.

Ultimate WEAPON will fly where ever until it hits Cosmo Canyon and it'll just hover above it without doing the laser thing. Save before fighting and equip an Enemy-Skill materia to the party because Ultimate Weapon's final attack is Shadow Flare to whoever did the last attack. One of the few enemies in the game that casts the spell and it's a pretty good one if only it didn't cost so much fucking MP.

Ah. Anybody know why it keeps changing between an aerial and ground fight? -_- I'd like to just whup it's ass on the ground.

try Gongaga it likes to hide there sometimes

Just depends where it lands. Sometimes it can land on nothing but ground areas, other times it's always in the air. If you have characters with Long Range weapons like Vincent and Barret and the Long Range Materia then the fight is no problem in the air and it's like a ground battle.

unless barret gots his stupid close range weapons equipped...man that crap pissed me off sometimes -.-;

I avoid those with Barret, honestly, I barely use him, I prefer to use Nanaki and Vinnie. I have no choice but to use Cloud. >_>

I'm the same way. I hardly use Barret (Lame character, not good with anything really), Tifa (bad character imo), Vincent (Limits suck ass) and Cait Sith (Not a great character). I prefer Red XIII (Excelent magic and strength), Yuffie (Well balanced Limits) and Cid (Come on, it's CID!) way more. Then of course I hate Aeris and never use her after the Midgar events. Cloud is the game's best character, you can't deny that with his well set stats and excellent Limit attacks even if you don't like his character. Using Omnislash is almost as good as KOTR, sometimes it's better because it costs no MP.

My strategy for Ultimate WEAPON was a party of Yuffie and Red XIII. Yuffie, if her Conformer is equipped, is able to do 9999 damage every hit so I had her attack then Red XIII has a high magic stat so I had him as my mage. Cloud would focus on using Enemy-Skills like Big Guard (Wall and Haste) then he would use Pandora's Box for some high damage. Make sure Cloud (Or whoever has the Enemy-Skill) does the final attack and he'll learn Shadow Flare. Downside is he'll die unless you still have an M-Barrier/Wall effect on to absorb some of the damage but if not then that character dies and loses out on a shit ton of EXP and AP.

I actually find Ultima quite easy, I just use Big Guard and start with using Bahamut Zero and keep beating the heck out of it.

But thats just me

Which enemy gives Big Guard? I've been going without Enemy Skills and I think that's why I got stuck on the Carry Armor for so long...

Beach Plugs, you can find them near Gongaga at the bay. (You'll need manipulate but its totally worth it)

Cool, easy to find and I'm bitchin' enough to survive there for a while.

im like rycloud, i never found Ultimate Weapon to be that hard, maybe two KOTR and hes out

Um...where' KOTR? I'm still stuck in Junon and haven't found Ultimate Weapon again, can I even fight it at this point?

I tend to only be able to fight it and kill it just before going back into Midgar on Disc 2, however I'm sure you can fight him earlier.

Don't I need to kill the Ruby Weapon for the Gold Chocobo?

nope got to breed chocobo's and its fking annoying to try and get the gold one.

Chocobo breeding was annoying but the rewards are worth it. KOTR makes things so much easier especially against Ruby and Emerald but I know people who use the Enemy-Skill Laser that can cripple Emerald but I think that only works with the European version because they also have Vincent's Death Penalty glitch where he is able to kill Emerald, Ruby and Safer Sephiroth in one hit because they kept the break damage limit so attacks could do 10,000 and up.

breeding chocobos isn't that bad if you know how to do it, plus its fun to race them and stuff

Ultimate WEAPON is the easiest to beat actually, well for me anyway (including Diamond)

He doesnt actualy fly to random place. He more 'circles' an area, however a large area and not so much an actual circle. That is until you fight him the last time next to Cosmo Canyon

Also I find it ironic that the game only lets you have a gold chocobo for nothing (without needing to breed) if you beat the one of the hardest bosses in the game (Ruby Weapon).

Haha, that is irony for you considering you kind of need KotR, that is unless you've mastered your characters and materia (not including the ones that you can only get with a Gold Chocobo)

And i know that strategy, but cant be bothered playing the game THAT hardcore!!
