So I'm on free roam now. This feels like Final Fantasy to the core. The Chocobo quests finally gives me the Gil I need to boosts weapons!

Gil is a biznatch to get in this game til much later lol

ya no kiddin I hate Hope, and Vanille is startin to wear on me too. I really like Snow, Lightning and Sazh tho, they are all great characters

Finally, someone else who is a little off putting by Vanille. I think there's moments when she annoys the hell out of me (maybe too childish for me?) but other times I adore her XD

Lightning is on my number 2 list of favorite characters. Auron is still number one.

I hate Hope's character, but his Eidolon is a badass. Vanille is getting to me at times... Heh. But she's still cool. Her Eidolon is badass. The gestalt mode and the way she rides it reminds me of Rikku's machina maw.

The FFXIII cast had such a dysfuntional chemistry at first. They were so separated until the later chapters..

Well, I've got to say I really like Vanille Smile

Her voice is just a little too high (however, when she "tells" the story, the voice actor seems to lower her voice, which is waaaaaay better xD).
I think she's in my top of favourit characters :3 Maybe she's even higher then Rikku. (who's SO awesome too !)

And Lightning is okay to me Smile

I understand people say she's a kind of "female-Cloud", but she's way better in my opinion.. However, she's not one of my favs.

Right finally got sometime to get on and let you lot know where I'm up to on this.

Being one of the last to get it (last Thursday) I'll start filling you in with what I'm currently at. Just beat Dysley and I'm not at "The Ark". The fight I found fairly hard but sticking with "War & Peace" I've managed to get it through it on the first go (which was lucky, I used Lightning, Snow and Vanille with Vanille as my Medic, Lightning as my Commander and Snow as my Ravager)

Currently the only Boss thats crippled me badly (4 times it took) was Sazhs Eidolon.

My opinion so far, its brill. The EXP system with the crystals is fairly straight forward and forces you to consider which skills you might need later. Character wise I'm enjoying Lightning much more but Sazh is my current favourite character, love both the tragedy he holds aswell as the humour he produces (plus he has a chocobo living in his hair).

Just two questions though does anyone know why they took out the fanfare and changed the Bombs? (not complaining it just seems a bit weird that they would do it)

They changed it to Glory Fanfare, don't know why. I think that was lacking... at least in major boss battles I was hoping they put it, but oh well.

And as for the bombs, if you pay attention to their shadows when you beat them, they show the shape of their former self.

Cid...I hate you.

Had to use Vanille and Fangs Sab moves and constantly slashing him with Lightning to kill him, he didnt go down without a fight

Seriously, one wrong move (literraly) and this game will cut you down with no mercy...which is good, gotta love a challenge Very Happy

lol i used a fortisol before the fight with Cid and totally whooped him in idk five minutes, only one stagger, I was waiting for a second form, but no he was dead, a lot easier than i thought, just luck i suppose, now im preparing for bahamut

Hardest boss for me, and don't laugh, is Giant Cactuar. LOL. Still can't beat it yet.

Well.

Exactly a month after I got the game and almost to the hour when I started playing it.... I have beaten FFXIII.

I will be writting a review on it, one with spoilers on a new thread. I'll have to write it out first then post it because man...

I love this game.

I have high hopes for the future of the coming Final Fantasies now. Finally the scornful memories of FFXII is finally lifted from my head.
