International/Final Mix
This thread is dedicated to the selfishness of the lovable Square Enix shipping directors. For those new to this phenomena, International or Final Mix versions of Square's games are basically the Special Editions of the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series. With these versions of the games, you get more dungeons, bosses, weapons and sometimes, even scenes. In Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix, you are able to fight each and every one of the Organization XIII members whenever you want.
Only problem with these games...is A, you have to pay for a whole new game for a few bonuses. And B, most importantly, it is limited to Japan and with International, a select few other countries. The US, among others, is one of the countries that is not included in the list. I imagine it is to cut costs, or the US just didn't have as many fans who were requesting the special editions.
But there are those of us gamers, who are willing to buy a Japanese PS2 and learn a little Japanese to get the chance to play these games. I am among these, but I don't plan on buying a JAP PS2. The reason I want to get the new versions is because of the boss fights, plus, I'm just that dedicated to Square Enix. :p
So, give your opinions, theories, facts pertaining to the Int./Final Mix versions of these games and if you've played them, your input. Please keep the spoilers to a minimum if you can.

Re: International/Final Mix
Ps3 does this thing on PSN where it releases japanese games that have never been released here in the US. I would love it if they add in FFX-2 international cause that one had extra missions that I never got to play. I won't spend the extra money for an import ps2 and not even understand what the hell they're saying.
As for learning japanese, I don't have the time. Beautiful language however.

PS3 gets all the perks. >_>
In all actuality, you wouldn't need to import a JAP PS2, you can put a program on your fat PS2 and it'll work.

Re: International/Final Mix
Does that program translate japanese too after I install it?

Re: International/Final Mix
Not that I know of, but the International FFs have a EU version, so you'd be getting English. Final Mix has no English translation, so you'd have to memorize your abilities, but items have icons next to them, so it wouldn't be a problem to me. :p
Re: International/Final Mix
It doesn't sound interesting to me at all >.< It's a smart way to earn extra money from the "OMG I NEED THAT OR I'LL DIE"-fans ^^'
Nah, I'm not interested.
As for Japanese... I'd prefer learning Romanian (since my dad speaks it and my family in Romania who can't speak English and I don't understand), but even then. I think even learning a dead language like Latin is more useful in Europe xD (and Latin is a great language !)

Re: International/Final Mix
Don't get me wrong, I'm thankful for even playing the games, but I'd just like the chance to fight Penance in X International and Marluxia in KH2: FM. :p
They're badassness.

Re: International/Final Mix
Don't care about it, if I bought the game when it first came out then I won't get it again. If a "Final Mix" version did come out and I never got the first version, I may go for that game but I don't really care about extra bosses and shit with some games. If it's like unlockable artwork for a game I find visually stunning like Okami then I will buy it.

Then we should call up Yoshitaka Amano, like his art, though his concept design is...just terrible.
Re: International/Final Mix
Exactly, I don't mind if a game doesn't come to the US, especially Kingdom Hearts, I NEVER liked that series, anyway, i don't really think that buying an entirely new game just because it has a few extra features is really appealing, like Cap'n said, if i didn't get the first version, then maybe i will.

Re: International/Final Mix
I don''t blame your guys' opinions, I guess I'm just way too enthusiastic of a fan, but it really kind of gets me mad when Square is putting all these features into games only for Japan. Course, they have the right. >_>
Re: International/Final Mix
yep and they know that people like you will continue too buy it so they can continue doing it in future games.

Re: International/Final Mix
I suppose, but chances are I won't be getting these games, so there's one less person on the list.
