E3 2011

I never played Demon's Souls bc it was ps3 exclusive, but I think I would just get frustrated anyways, I don't enjoy getting pwned repeatedly in games lol

I watched the Nintendo press conference and all I have to say is that Nintendo won E3 2011!!...and if you didn't know there's not gonna be a friend code system for the Wii U instead you'll have your own gamertag/user name plus friends list just like on the 360 and PS3.

I'm actually hoping that Nintendo will redesign the Wii U cause this is just so mess up...I'm thinking that the reason why they made it so long is cause they didn't want it to look like a PS3 Slim.

It doesn't look that long to me, just very thin. I doubt they will change it, too far in development.

I know for one thing I'm going to have to chuck my Original Xbox in the bin or something, I want to give that baby a proper place.

I would just replace my Wii with the Wii U if I needed room for it besides why would I wanna deal with 2 censor bars and all the cable tangle mess.

I would put my Wii is currently sat on a table that is just enough room to hold the console itself and all it's games (which comes to 2 massive stacks)


In fact mentioning gamer space has given me an idea for a thread, which I will make when I return home.

It's Official the Wii U will not be able to play DVDs or Blu-Rays...I know that Nintendo has never cared about this stuff but it.. makes me wonder why they jump in the Netflicks wagon then?

that kinda sucks, all new consoles should have that ability since no one wants to use a dvd player anymore

They didn't implement it because they figure, most anybody watching movies have a player for them, and they find the prospect of having to contract those amenities which would be redundant, instead they're focusing on what it is.
A gaming console...

DVD players are only between £5 - £10 over here, with Zane here a DVD player isn't really that important.

why go buy a dvd player tho, if your console can run dvds?? It's not like it's a hard thing to add, maybe not necessary, but convenient....and the argument that it's simply a gaming console...idk gaming consoles should have these capabilities imo for the prices they are charging, not to mention, they all run netflix, etc. so whats the big deal

Well the option of Netflix can be seen more as an app rather then an addition to the console, as all it really requires is the option and the internet. Where as a DVD player needs its own laser to read the data on the disks.

Kinda easy for SONY to build one into the playstation because they deal with those formats via their other electronic equipment, easy for Microsoft because they install them in more or less all of their computers and laptops. Harder for Nintendo because Nintendo's only focus is gaming, its the only market the company targets so they can't really afford to balls up money on various trials and errors to add the feature.

At least thats my theory.

Another theory is that it's kinda common place knowledge that the majority of the world now own a DVD player so it's not really necessary to waste time adding a feature people already have access too.
