A Pirates Life For Me

she nodded but tears started streaming down her face "im going to die in here arent i?" she said in an almost whisper

mr tubs opened the door and coughed loudly "c'mon mateo, thats enough 'visiting' for now" he said and they escorted him out of the room.

just as mateo was going up the stairs one of the men was chatting with mr tubs, he handed him a pouch of gold and mr tubs greedily looked it over before handing the man a key to Freya's room and mr tubs walked away counting the money happily while the man slipped into the room

freya remained with her head in her knees until she heard a cracking noise above her. a large man was using a huge knife to crack open the top for her coffin. her eyes widened and she tried to flop onto the floor but was grabbed by the throat "such a pretty little thing..." he said and kissed her neck.

she let out a shrill scream but he clamped a hand over her mouth quickly. unfortunately his hand also went over her nose.

she floundered helplessly the big brute not even noticing he was suffocating her as he ran fingers over her scales ripping one off. she felt tears well in her eyes at the pain. it was like having a fingernail ripped off.

in a final attempt she grabbed onto his shoulders using her upper body strength to shove away from him with her fin. she hit the floor with a thub coughing loudly. instantly her skin turned ashen over the suntanned gold and her eyes dulled. she was completely out of water and it was making her ill very quickly

Mateo went over to his usual place, trying to stay out of everyones way. He thought about Freya and her words, her songs. 'Luck...it seems we both need it.' He thought as Avery approached his place on the net.
"You were gone a while. I thought for a moment the siren had eaten you." He laughed but Mateo didn't.
"She's scared Avery."
"Of course the little vixen wants you to think its scared. They play off emotions they don't have Mateo, don't let your mind go thinking her like a human." Mateo gripped the rope under his fingers. He couldn't help his defensive position towards Freya, he raised defending his mother, another woman in his life that was branded forever as being a 'vixen' and a 'man eater'. He grew tired of thinking about it and looked back to ocean, hoping to find some peace of mind.
How could he have told freya he'd help her get out of that case? And do what with her then? Put her in a bigger tub of water? He shook his head just as Avery let out a small grumble.
"Damn a splinter of wood is stuck in my thumb. Hey Mateo, do you still have that knife on you?" Mateo still in thought, reached into his pocket and fished for the knife. When he came up short, he remembered setting it down on the floor next to Freya's tank and internally cursed himself.
"I dropped it below deck. Here let me go get it." He slipped off the rope before Avery could protest and hurried down the stairs. He felt a small elation at seeing Freya again as well as a small bit of guilt. When he came upon the door he was surprised to find the door unlocked.
"Tubs, has anyone-" He looked behind him and saw no Tubs standing guard. A sense of uneasiness rose in him and he pushed against the door lightly enough to where it would swing open quietly. He didn't expect to find Freya out of water or the man standing over her with the large knife in his hands, cussing up a storm from where her fin had sliced his skin.
Mateo moved quickly something he learned on the streets from a while ago, instantly going to disarm the man. He caught mans arm as it went with the knife at his face and twisted it behind him at an odd angle. He kneed the hand, sending the knife to the floor as well as awakening a loud crack from the mans hand.
He yelped and Mateo kicked his legs out from under him, bringing his head down on the side of Freya's crate, leaving the man out cold. He then moved to Freya, his hands completely unsure as he tried lifting her. Her tail added extra weight, so much so that on the slick floor he had a hard time lifting her back to the water. "Freya por favor, me ayudaste." (Freya please, help me out) He said as he got her close enough to the little water still in her tank she could almost climb back in with his help.

"whats going on in here!" mr tubs was standing by the door with the captain next to him.

the captain ran in quickly helping mateo "how long was she out of water!!!" he said uneasily and he pulled her away from mateo back to the floor looking her over "damn it..." he said looking at her bruised neck

"well... i dont know if shes going to make it now... MR TUBS!" he yelled at the shaking first mate "do something useful with your life and go get ALOT more water... and while your at it throw that one over board" he said talking about the unconcious man

she let out a painful cough and sat up "my fin... ahhh" she said in a painful yell holding it.

the fin started disappearing and where replaced by toes

"NO NO NO SHIT!!" the captain said and looked at her

she screamed in pain as her fun split into legs, but because she hadnt acclimated properly to being totally out of water she still kept scales on her hips and on her feel had red and purples blotches much like her fun coloring.

she laid on the floor banging her fist into the floor till it bled. the pain was almost like being sliced with a knife up both thighs

"well... shes not dead... so thats a plus... keep her away from water now." the captain said after it was all over. he kicked the coffin over the water spilling to the floor and then he stood it back up "ill... send her some clothes later..." he said looking at her trying to crawl into the corner. she had never used legs before so she kept acting like they were a fin

"mateo... make sure shes alright. here" he said handing him the key "i dont even trust that bloody first mate of mine." he grumbled walking out of the room then he stopped "best not let the men know" he said with a serious look to mateo before shutting the door

"Que hice mal?" (what did i do wrong?) she cried into her knees her toes still curled tightly in the pain of it all

"No hicistes nada mal." (You didn't do anything wrong) Mateo said, giving her an apologetic frown. He felt responsible for getting her into this mess, after all it was his map that put her in this situation. And now here she was, looking as human as her transformation allowed her and completely mortified. He thought of Avery's words and shook his head slightly. Mermaid or not, she was a woman stuck on a ship knowing she could be harmed by anyone at any moment. She was speaking though, which meant she was breathing fine, and besides the discoloring of her feet she seemed be able to move even while soaking wet. That also meant she had to be freezing in this dank room, fresh out of luke warm water. He worked off his shirt and offered it to her, feeling awkward allowing her to sit there naked and cold, no longer completely half fish. "This can help keep you dry, just till there are better clothes for you, something more comfortable." He said but kept his distance from her, as not to worry her any further. He glanced at her legs, the blotchiness of her feet and the scales at her hips. "Puedas usar las piernas?" (Can you use your legs?) He asked, worrying the rapid change might have damadged them.

"i dont know.." she said looking at them "this has never happened... ive never been out of water before..." she took the shirt from him curious as how she was to put it on. she pulled it over her head but didnt understand how to put her arms through so just sat that way curling her legs under the shirt aswell

"how do you walk?" she asked looking at how he stood on his legs. she stood up slowly leaning against the wall for support her legs shaking and her knees pointed in. it felt horribly awkward to pull her legs from touching each other

Mateo stifled a laugh under his smile. She looked like a young foal trying to stand for the first walked over to Freya and held under her arms that were still hidden in the shirt. "Here, its easy once you get the hand of it." He said with a smile and he worked her arms through the sleeves of the shirt. "Let me show you." He place her hands on his shoulders and took hold of her waist. "Now just put one foot infront of the other." He said taking a step back so she would have to follow. "Knees apart or else you'll fall on your face." He said and took another step back.

"i dont like this..." she said but stepped forward mostly placing all her weight on him instead of trusting her legs

she looked up at his shoulders and chest "why are humans different?" she said and moved her hands to poke his chest "why do you have nothing here... you are much taller... why?" she asked grabbing him again when he took another step back

"why did that one grab me like that?" she asked the purpling bruse on her neck still aching


"what did he want? he pulled my scales off! its just dead fish! why does he want that?"

Mateo didn't know exactly how to answer her question without making himself sound just as bad. How to explain the minds of weak men, how to explain exactly why he was so different from her kind?
"I guess human's are so different because of different homes." He said though it wasn't exactly a straight answer. He felt like a parent answering a childs questions.
"He was..weak minded, wanting something that he shouldn't have, like harming you. But scale pulling? That's the weirdest fetish I've ever hear of." He muttered the last part to himself at the weird thought. Then again, she did tempt many of the sailors with her voice and face, and alot of these men hadn't seen a woman or a good drink in days. "Don't worry so much about it though. You're my responsibility now, and I can say I won't let you down señorita." He said as he tried to steady her with the sudden shifting of the deck in the waves.

Rei was less then happy with things as they were now… for a start the trip from the hill to the doc side… was way … way… way too short..

He groaned as Utahime sold his horse and good for cash to get them on board depending on the captains taste…

And he was dreading it… most of all being on such a small space with no way to escape her short of death…

He looked out into the harbor in abject horror as merchants that he new personally waved and winked at him when they saw Utahime… like hell… and the blasted woman had the nerve to wave and cling to him like a lover would… he wanted to gag…

Yet as much as Shugorei wanted to gag Utahime wanted to be rid of him… all he did was wine and complain….

Was he not supposed to be a man… then again all men had shown them selves unworthy of even there definition of a man.

Her next best hope is on the first pirate ship that had a woman on bord…

"FREYA!" she hissed at him "not senorita not girl not wench FREYA!" she said and held him tighter when the boat rocked before she let go of him standing on her legs a little wobbly but enough to not need much help

"will i have clothes like you too?: she asked looking at his shoes "your legs are different then mine... why?" she asked looking at the odd shape of a foot. ((really his shoes))

she felt the boat rock again and quickly sat down "we are on water... but we are not in it... torture!" she grumbled kicking the floor with her heel as if she was trying to break it to get at the water

When she snapped at him, he blinked at his lack of ability to even slightly charm this girl. He meant her no disrespect but something inside of him reminded him he was dealing with a spanish woman here. He clapped when she was able to stand on her own. "You will have clothes, but women wear different things, slender and lighter clothing." He said then was confused about her comment about his legs. "Ah..Oh! No the shoes are also just clothing as well." He said as she dropped down kicking the floors in her frustration.
"Calm, Freya, we should reach land soon enough." He said, already getting a little stir crazy himself being below deck for so long in a room with no sun light.

A pretty woman walked by with a pair of pirates before she noticed a rather good looking man with a sour looking woman in the market. "Well, hello," She said, bustling over to him, getting all too close with her cleavage and loose bodice of her dress, "What brings a man like you to a port like this?" She giggled at the sight of his clothing. There were practically dollar signs in her cat like eyes.

freya nodded and jumped when the door opened. the captain held up a ruffled dress that was above the knees in the front and almost to the floor in the back. a black bodice and a pair of brown worn leather boots "there we go!" he said handing them to her

"i want your ass up on deck in a few minutes doing some real work... got it?" the captain said to mateo before walking back out.

she looked at the clothes and yanked off mateo's shirt then sat trying to pull the boots on but was having a heck of a time "how does this work?" she questioned sticking her arm down one of the boots holding it up "how do you move with such restraints?" she complained pulling the bodice on backwards still not pulling the dress on. she thought it was a very small sail

Mateo nodded to the captian as he left and in that short time turned back to Freya to find her already messing with the clothes. He cleared his throat, rubbed the back of his neck uneasily, and went to work helping her. He pulled the boot off her hand and sat her down on one of the crates. "Hold your arms up, porfa?" (please) He said with a blush that spread to his neck as crossing borderline of awkward as this was. When she did he slipped the bodice off of her trying his best not to stare. "Ah the dress comes first." He said as placed it over her, head and helped work her head through the neck of it then her arms. When it was properly situated as best as a guy could make it, he slipped the bodice on her with a little more dificulty. 'why the hell do women have to dress so complicatedly!' He thought a memory hitting him of helping tie his mothers corset.
Finally he moved to the boots, kneeling infront of her and taking a colored foot, "See you just take the sides and slide them on your feet." He said, as he slid her foot into the warm leather boot. "Try putting on the other." He said with a small smile as he pulled his own shirt back over his head.
"And that completes this lesson on how to dress with Mateo. Take a look at yourself in the glass when you get a chance, eres muy bonita." He said with a bow though wasn't sure she got the joke in the begining.
"Now I have work to get to before I end up being thrown over board myself." He said, before walking to the door, "Don't get into any trouble without me. See you in a little while Freya." He said before shutting the door behind him.

Utahime placed a hand on his chest as a show of ownership and smiled.

" the two of us are here for business with pirates." she said smiling, " not hokers"

Rei looked down at the womans cleavage and smiled. hell he might as well enjoy the view right?


Hime didnt like this woman... she reeked of men...or was it greed that she reeked of?

" why dont we hear her out " Rei asked.

Hime smiled and looked up at him " remember the last time you took time to hit on a good looking girl?" she asked knowing she ment her self.

Rei went pail and pulled his fingers up to cover his ears" never mind "

Hime smiled at this and turned back to the woman, " see... we are all good "

freya watched mateo go and kicked her feet looking at the boots. she looked like a human. how charming!

she stood up and looked at herself in the glass and then decided to try and learn to walk a little better. she puffed out her chest and tried to walk like mateo again, going around the room over and over. "its so small in here..." she thought disappointedly

"laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand hoooooooooooooo" she heard the faint call from above her and the sound of mens feet until they disappeared off the boat. she pushed the door open realizing mateo didnt lock it. she looked around to see only a few men below who where sleeping or the one who was cooking something. she hurried and walked above deck nearly face planting on the stairs a few times but made it up to look around seeing very few men on the boat, and then she looked at the dock. 'oh my!' she thought seeing the amount of humans that where around

she walked up on deck and contimplated jumping into the water or going onshore and exploring. 'i cant miss a chance like this....' she thought and took a few uneasy steps on the step plank to shore.

'im sorry if this gets you in trouble mateo...' she thought taking a step on the dock. she walked to where the dock ended and cobble stone started and saw a women standing there. her eyes brightened up and she walked over "hi! i thought i was the only one here!" she said and the girls gave her eyeing looks and a few of them scoffed. the other sighed "itso k hun. i like the pirate gimic you just need to lace this more properly." she said yanking her bodice tighter so that her chest seemed bigger "there you go hun" she said and patted her head "all you need is... here" she said and yanked a flower out of a planter box sticking the bright red flower in her hair "hey. are you a spainish chic? your so tan! most men here like em' pale" she said and a man walked up to her whispering in her ear "gatta go sweetie!" she said having the man lead her away.

freya was a bit confused but thought she was only helping. 'how friendly... maybe mateo isnt the only different one' she thought and then blinked turning to look at the ships... they all looked the same suddenly

"m...mateo?" she said suddenly getting very scared.

"MATEO!!" she yelled over the men only bringing attention on herself. a man wrapped his arm around her neck slapping his large feathered hat on her "ahhhh ive never seen a prettier face in all the 7 seas!" she said with a hiccup

"of course you havent" she said in all seriousness. he laughed and smacked her ass almost making her fall over from lack of ballance still. she was already swaying from being on a surface that wasnt on the ocean.

"do you know where mateo is?" she asked and he frowned "ahhh already got a man for the night? my bad darlin!" he said and let go of her walking into the next girl using the same lines

she bit her lip looking at all the men but none where mateo.

she climbed up on a stack of barrels and crates just enough to see above the heads.

then men around her stopped and stared at her, some leaning against the crates looking up at her. she was afraid of what would happen when she stopped singing so her eyes frantically scanned for mateo hoping he would find her

"Drink up me hearties yo ho!" A chorus of men sang from the bar side, while the whores flocked around them giggled incessantly. Mateo chuckled as another man yet again fell off the stairs trying to make his way to a waiting woman. It was utter chaos in the pub that escaped the laws prying eye and its guests it catered to with men taking in their fill for their success of capturing a mermaid. Most told elaborate stories of the venture, including a man that sat a few seats down from Avery, explaining the story to members of another crew.
"Then the maid sprung form the ocean, 4 heads she had and breathed fire. Lucky I escaped alive after she drowned me old friend Joshuah, my he rest in greater waters." Mateo rolled his eyes and instantly Avery noticed his unease.
"Will you get your mind off the fish for a while boy. Just realx. Your map got us the prise, have some fun. take a drink, find a woman, you've earned it." Avery said, slapping him on the back but Mateo simply shook his head.
"She has a name Avery. And besides, I can't help shaking the feeling somethings gone a miss. I left her on that ship alone, no telling who might-"
"Hello boys, mind if I join you?" A fair looking woman said, her skin pale and her red hair in loose waves to her shoulders. She instantly sat in Avery's lap, her hand gliding across his chin as she looked to Mateo with flirty winks. She was beautiful but his mind was elsewhere.
"She's on the ship how bad can it be." Avery said distractedly and Mateo frowned at him.
"On a ship full of men like that." Mateo added, jerking his finger in the direction of a man that had passed out from all the alsohol he consumed in such a short time.
"Enough, Mateo. The little miss will be fine." Avery said. "Drown your worried in some ale while you're at it. You're driving me nuts." He said shoving the pint in his direction. The woman in Avery's lap gave an annoyed huff and left Mateo alone, guessing she wouldn't be getting much out of him.
Mateo got to his feet walking to edge of the room where a man sat playing an old spanish tune on his guitar, rubbing his forehead from the head ache that was forming. Never in his life had he had a woman that could command his attention like Freya, almost spell like in the way she looked at him with that beautiful face. She was also more stress than she was worth. He just hoped she was smart enough to stay on board the ship in her safe room and not do something stupid like venture off onto the docks.

The woman glared at Hime but gave in, seeing as she wasn't going to get much out of the man with her there. "Pardon me ma'am but if it be pirates you're looking for, you're in the wrong place. There's a tavern not to far from here, The Siren's Song. Ships that dock here, their crews go to her for good ale and to recruit new members." She looked Hime and Rei over and sniffed. "Good luck to ya both, you're going to need it." She went to walk away and paused as another woman stormed over to her a similar outfit.
"Yazmina, for all the hell in the seas, a newcomer has stolen the attention of damn near every sailor in the area!" The woman hissed in a fit just as a beautiful voice floated over to them.
Yazmina looked over her shoulder and saw the beautiful girl on the crates and frowned quickly. "doesn't look like anyone I know. Damn it all." She hissed, "Take care of her. Get her off my docks." She said flicking her hand over her shoulder. The women nodded to Yazmina and headed over to the girl with obvious intent to 'teach' her not to steal their turf.

Freya smiled as her song came to an end but instandly was yanked down into the crowd "ow!" she said pulling her hand away "come with me my lass!" "no me!" hey i seen her first!" she shoved away from them and into a woman "oh thank the heavens. do you know where mateo is? tall... dark... speaks spanish?" she said with a weak smile "i really need to find him... im so confused here... theres too many people, i just need to get back to the ship but ive forgotten which one it is..." she said tapping her fingers together

"ME LADY! if it be a ship you after come with me to the siren eh? ill make sure you join the company of some lovely folk!" he said swinging his arm around her shoulders "will mateo be there?" she questioned and he nodded "ahhh all the spainards a lady can want!" he said and she blinked 'i just want to find mateo' she thought 'but... maybe he is there' she smiled and nodded
"ok!" she said andhe handed her a pint of ale some splashing down the front of her "drink up!!!" he laughed and she looked around curiously before taking a timid sip, he grabbed the bottom of the glass and yanked upward the ale slidding down her throat and sloshing in her nose. she coughed and wipped her face on her sleeve feeling a warm woozy feeling hit her "now how about another song! ill teach ya!" he said and she nodded holding the mug still

"yo ho!" he bellowed and she mimiced

"YO HO!"

"A PIRATES LIFE FOR ME!" they chimmed and she laughed hysterically at basically nothing

"i love this pirate drink!" she said and he smiled handing her another bottle "pirate drink indeed! rum is not for the fient of heart deary!" he chuckled and she gulped it back wringkling her nose a little "ahghhh! im having alot of fun!!!" she said to the man who nodded and spun her around in an over exagerated dance

"wait wait.. stop spinning i feel sick!" she mumbled and he set her on a table so she could sit and rest while he chased after another wench running around the bar half naked.

she looked at the woman now standing before her and moaned as her stomach ached "can you help me?" she mumbled

Yazmina blinked when the girl suddenly sunk into the crowd and cursed under her breath. "I have things to deal with. See you later at The Siren handsome?" She said to Rei before heading to The Siren's Song. Of course as soon as she walked in that nuisance was sitting on a table trying to catch her breath.
The woman looked down at her and shook her head at the little girl. "Can't even hold her liquor." Yazmina scoffed hauling her to her feet by her bodice rather roughly. "What are you doing in a place like this. I can already look at you and see you don't belong in a place like the siren. Let me show you out before you get hurt, eh?" She snickered.
The guitarist next to Mateo hit a sour note and instantly began conversing with his buddies next to him in a whirl of Spanish. "Mira, isn't she beautiful....unlike any bar wench I've seen....what's Yazmina doing with her...hope she didn't step on her toes, Yazmina isn't the type to take people taking her customers." Mateo looked up and caught sight of the girls they were poitning at and nearly spit his drink onto a woman heading over to him.
"Freya?!" He got to his feet and hurried over to her. Yazmina blinked when she saw Mateo making his way over to them and instantly put on one of her best smiles.
"Well hello, señor." She giggled in bad spanish, before throwing a curl over her shoulder. "Like what you see?" She said, with Freya's arm still in a vice grip. Mateo looked at her hand and gave this Yazmina a curt frown.
"Quite." He said as he pulled Freya from her. Her face fell pale in shock as Mateo dragged Freya off to the side and out of the noise.
When he got her to a quieter corner he turned to her, his expression lacking all easy going or happy sentiments. He looked genuinely mad as well as a hint of worry showing in his eyes. "What the hell do you think you're doing out here? Que tonto niña eres!" (What a dumb girl. *Basically he's talking about her decision not calling her totally stupid*) He snapped, but then huffed when he noticed her slightly dazed look. "And you've been drinking, perfecto." He sat her down on one of the crates his look softening. "Are you okay? No one has hurt you?"

"hurt? no that girl bruised my arm though... " she said and handed him the bottle she had been holding "i dont like this anymore" she said her head falling to rest on his chest "i tried to find you" she mumbled "but the man said you where in spain... or something" she mumbled

"here" she mumbled and handed him a large sack of gold "i dont know why that man gave this to me but you cant eat it so i dont want it" she said her head never moving fromt he resting position on his chest

"no me dejan... por que?" ((i didnt leave... why not?)) she mumbled referring to why she decided to go and explore instead of doing the safer thing and jump in the docks and go home.

mateo was whirled around making freya nearly fall to the floor. the man she had been drinking with eyes mateo with a scowl "HEY i suggest you get your paws off my lovely lady you grease mexican!" he hiccuped but stood like he was ready for a fight

Mateo couldn't help but feel relieved at having her close again. It was a definate ease of mind to know she wasn't in danger and yet also it felt nice to know she had been looking for him and didn't leave off into the ocean. He shook his head, getting ready to take her back to the ship when suddenly someone suddenly snatched him around. He looked the man over and internally groaned. More to deal with and he didn't want to have in any fights in a bar with a drunk sailor especially when it could result in a bigger fight between crew members and finally have Freya get caught up in it.
"Ah just a bit of a misunderstanding, sir." He said, speaking with a perfectly american accent though the mexican title stung.
'My family is from Spain, there's a difference gringo.' He thought but didn't voice it because it would damage his attempts to stop the fight, "This is my sister from Guadalupe. She left the convent in San Louis and the sisters there miss her terribly." He said, lying through his teeth though sounding convincing since they were both as spanish as could be. "Now," He reached behind him and found a a bag of copper coins behind him from a man that was passed out that looked similar to the bag of gold. There was no sense in letting perfectly good gold got to waste on liquor anyhow. "Take your money and buy a good drink with it, eh amigo? No need for violence infront of a young woman of god, yes?" He noticed Avery was eyeing him and instantly jerked his head towards the man ever so slightly. Avery got to his feet though he staggered a bit, ready to jump in if a fight began.

the man inhauled deeply and grabbed his money grumbling about 'mexicans' again and went back to the bar

freya looked around the bar at the people. she saw a wench kissing a man and she blinked 'look like fish... ' she thought andpushed her lips together childishly puffing out her cheeks before laughing 'like a blow fish! how silly' she thought and when mateo turned back to look at her she pushed her lips out and over dramatically. "why do people shuck on eachs others faces like dis?" she said through her puckered lips

Mateo paused at the way she looked and had to stifle a laugh though the question was another one of her usual odd questions with really no easy way to answer them. "Because, it's-uh-how do you say it-it's when a two people want-"
"Because young lass it's called a kiss." Mateo felt his shoulder weighed down by Avery's elbow as the man joined the conversation. "A magical thing that brings two people together and all that pigswallow. Has the power to nearly kill a man and steal a woman's heart." Mateo wanted to kick Avery for saying something metaphorical that Freya could take literally, but Avery simply continued under his look of warning. "A pretty young thing like you has never had one, let alone heard of one? A real crime that is."
"Avery, she doesn't understand these things-"
"Quiet boy, I'm talking to that holy sister of yours." Avery joked with a loud drunken laugh. "Your mother would turn over in her grave if any child of hers joined the church!" Mateo rolled his eyes but couldn't help a smile.
"Freya, this is an old friend, Avery. Avery, this is a friend as well, Freya." Avery took Freya's hand and gave it a kiss.
"Pleasures mine, my beauty. I'm surprised Mateo didn't introduce us before. Cheeky dog," Mateo staggered a bit under the hard pats to his back and grumbled something unintelligible under his breath.
"You have already met." Avery blinked and started to shake his head but Mateo stopped him by whispering something to him. Instantly Avery's eyes widdened and he took a dramatic step back from Freya.
"THAT'S THE MER-" Mateo clamped a hand over his mouth and shook his head quickly.
"Don't, no one on the crew can know. Captian's orders." He said and Avery nodded though it was hesitant. When Mateo removed his hand from his mouth, Avery stared at her with a gulp.
"Why is it on land? Why would you bring it off the boat?! Has she got you under a spell or something?-" Mateo shook his head and took a step closer to Freya.
"She's fine, Avery. Look at her. Seriously, does that face look like it's getting ready to breath fire?" He said with a raised eyebrow. Avery looked over Freya again then at Mateo's face and sighed.
"Alright, fine. I guess she can't be too much harm if she hasn't even given a proper kiss."

"kiss." she said and let her lips stop from puckering as she touched them lightly and then glared at avery "NOT IT!!! FREYA!" she growled at him balling her fists up "dont call me 'it' or 'monster'" she said and a pout came across her face "you like it if i call you scum?" she said folding her arms trying to get him to see that it wasnt very nice

her protest was interrupted when a woman being playfully chased by a man ran next to them. and she touched her lips again and looked at mateo feeling her face turn hot

"why is he chasing her?" she asked trying to break her daze of staring at mateo "and is avery good? like you?" she said and squinted at avery "i saw you tie the net though" she hissed crinkling her nose at him "and... can i have apple again?" she said with an innocent smile. truthfully she was still very hungry

Hime dragged them both to the bar that’s name did not impress her…

Walking in made her skin crawled as she put on a poker face to hide her terror.

She can see her first days on land rush through her mind…. The fear… the terrible shame…

“ stay close to me “ she ordered.

Rei roled his eye’s… she acted like he was going to get lost… hell he was a grown man for gods sakes….

“ yes my lady Siren” he said sarcastically putting an unwilling arm around Hime. “ that better your high ness ?”

Hime shuddered but keep going till she reached the middle of the room and looked about at all the eye’s of all the men…. An wished to all the world she was not in this room.

“ IM LOOKING FOR A SHIP WITH A WOMAN ON BOARD” she announced putting on a cocky outward appearance to keep her cool.

freya heard the voice and raised her hand "OH ME!" she said said and walked passed mateo and avery to the girl "ahhh im a girl on a ship!" she said and smiled then frowned "wait... im not on a ship now... but i was... or will be... but im not the guy with the hat... hes kind of a jerk... um..." she said suddenly feeling like she shouldnt have spoken up. she looked at the girls eyes and smiled "AHHH FINALLY!" she yelled and hugged her tightly "its so good to see you! even if your not full blooded" she said and grabbed her hand "its so scary here" she whispered to her "we should leave and talk" she said and tried to lead her to the door "come on" she said with a comforting smile
