A Pirates Life For Me

"Ah you look amazing! Doesn't she-did she just say Phil~? Adorable simply marvelous!" The woman gushed and Filipe couldn't help the quick twitch to his eye. She was pushing it with the name but he could put up with it better than 'sugar bear'. He nearly gagged.
"Vous regardez belle comme un ange." (You look more beautiful than an angel) He offered in response and the woman blushed wildly and hugged Hime.
"You're so lucky! My husband never says such lovely things-ah but I'm old you're so young. Have fun my dear on your wedding." She pulled away to grab jewelry somewhere off to the side and Filipe looked her over. It looked nice on her, very prestine and regal but, so odd. She looked so young compared to the woman who was only 5 years her senior maybe in age range.
"I hope you really like it. She's asking a hell of alot more for it than I think it's worth." He said, folding his arms but appraised her looks.

she looked at him her entire self glowing with what one would seem happiness. Hime would gave been named the sun and the flowers would miss her when she was not in the feilds with them.

" its perfect for marring you " she said before going to take the dress off. she was happy to be rid of it...it was heavy.

she was ready for this to be over... rick humans were like yapping dogs..... and just as irritating.

she ran out of the room and embraced Filipe when she noticed the woman still in the room , " ah im so happy... i could die" she gushed to him as she pretended to barely hold in her joy.

"Good good. I'm glad you're happy." Filipe said and the woman nodded excitedly.
"Ah yes, the shoes will be sent to the home with the jewelry. Good luck my dear." She said as she rushed to get them ready to leave so she could get back to be ready for her wedding later that day.

"Honestly, I could be on an island in the Carribean right now, drinking my weight in rum with an exotic beauty in my lap. But no, here I am stuck in a jail cell with you of all people and some Spanish speaking woman!" Arata snarled making Mateo's eyes narrow at him.
"No on told you to get your ass caught, Ara. You were just too stupid to run away like the coward you are." Mateo sniffed and Arata whirled on him.
"I'm the coward?! Mateo you let Hime be married off to that ass hole up stairs and wound us up in jail-!"
"Hime did that on her own! Besides...She-she must have had a reason..." Mateo said and Arata rolled his eyes.
"Yeah, some plan..."
Mateo rolled his eyes and look to Freya. He had been so worried about her and yet, now he worried so for Hime though she was the one who left them.
He shook his head. "Freya, I'm sorry I'm so weak. Please forgive me for getting you into this, for getting you all into this." He said, not meaning Arata though.

Hime took her leave with Filipe to go back home....

it would be short but she finally had a home.

Hime could not help but wish that this home would have .... some one else

something more.... she sighed feeling very heavy and tired, " ah... so... tired" she said as a dizziness filled her head.

" i... " she closed her eye's as she leaned against Fillipe as she drifted to sleep.

freya had been silent for the most part but then let out a groan of pain. her eyes where dull and her skin looked like it was turning a yellowish "i feel like i cant breath..." she mumbled

Mateo noticed Freya's color and saw the dog's ears go back as he whiimpered. He was snapped out of his thoughts of Hime and looked to Freya. "We'll be out of here soon. I promise. The guards are just...preparing to let us go. After that we'll get you back to some water, I promise." He said afording a quick touch to her cheek.
After a moment, he looked down at the floor again. He was starting to wonder what Freya thought about him, if she felt the same way he did? He had been bothered by the fact that she knew so little about even her own emotions, and had the sense she wouldn't understand his feelings even if he told her. He...cared for her. How he wasn't so sure of but he needed to find out soon. He didn't want to risk losing Freya again.

freya felt the warmth from his hand and it felt wonderful. being 'part fish' she was cold blooded, which ment whatever temperature it was around her was the temperature of her body, and right then it was freezing in the cold damp cell.

"mateo..." she mumbled and crawled over to him her limbs shaking with effort.

freya curled herself up against his chest "so ...warm..." she mumbled pushing her face into him so her clammy skin could touch him "mateo... dont leave me again... please. i promise ill be good, ill wear human clothes and i wont complain... ill stay by your side." she whispered feeling a shiver run through her body from the dropping temperature as it turned to night

"if it gets much c-colder... i dont know if i...i can make it." she mumbled her fingers and toes starting to feel numb

Mateo blushed but took her in close to him. She was shivering and looked sick, poor thing was having hell in here. "Don't worry Freya, you'll be fine. I'll make sure of it." He said tightening his hold on her. When was this wedding going to end? When were they going to be let go? He wasn't going to let it make him any angrier, not when he had Freya to worry about.
Arata on the other hand was pacing, getting incredibly annoyed. "This is bull shit-I mean how hard is it to marry someone off?!-I want the out of this mushy love circle before I go nuts-And-" He blinked and looked at Freya, his eyes appraising her as well as questioning. "What kind of clothes were you wearing besides the 'human' kind?"

freya gulped at her slip up "um...the ...." she looked up at mateo with a worrying look then back at arata

"no clothes?" she questioned. technically she wasnt lieing

Arata's eyes brightened with a few blinks and gave Mateo a look. Mateo's eyes widdened a bit and he gave a quick fake laugh.
"She's used to hearing 'ropa'. The word for clothes. Clothes doesn't correlate over to Spanish well." He said and gave her a quick wink. Arata gave a slight nodd though it was slightly awkward.
"Ah yeah, sure." He said, then motioned to a group of guards approaching their cell. "But seems our escorts have arrived." The guard opened the cell door and and the others took hold of the three.
"So to the streets with us?" Arata said with a smirk. The guard gave him a sneer.
"Actually you three are going to a wedding." He said before motioning for the guards to drag them away to the church.

freya didnt like when the man made her move. her bones felt like rubber and she was feeling like her brain was going to mush

"is it outside?" she asked as a chill ran up her spin again "and also.. could i please have some water? i think i might being dieing..." she mumbled the last part under her breath but the gaurd just completely ignored her

"Cheer up lads! There's a wedding and your invited!" A guard laughed in his face and Mateo's face fell in shock. What was that odd pained sensation that hit him in the gut. Was it guilt, fear, anger? He tried to understand it, but suddenly being forced forward by the guards broke his thought process. He could only move along the line in silent contemplation as they sat down in the alter pews. And he could only flinch at the sounds of "the bridal march" began to play on the massive organ.

'mateo' she tried to say but was only able to think it. she leaned her head back against the gaurd and let out a groan. the gaurd blushed looking down at her and she opened her eyes looking into his blushing face and she licked her lips. she cooed a soothing melody that made the man turn bright red wrapping his arms around her like he was in a trance 'ahh... hes nice and warm..' she thought leaned back against him

"mmmm" she moaned putting a hand up to the gaurds face touching it softly 'good human' she thought patting his cheek softly

she changed the tune and he led her away from the others getting to the door out and picking her up carrying her out of the chapel.

she felt weaker and weaker but kept humming into his ear as he walked. when they reached the outside balcheony she took in a deep breath and then blinked. this side of the building was incased in shade already, and with the sun setting she growled a little under her breath.

"sailor boy~" she cooed and he looked at her longingly "i want to be warmed up...where do i go?" she asked and he just stood staring at her like a mindless loon. she sighed and patting his face softly "ahh nevermind. i forgot you cant even talk right now~" she said and looked back at the door. suddenly all she wanted to do was get mateo like this. she blinked and shook herhead 'never use your powers on mateo...' she thought and looked back at the gaurd

"do you think im beautiful?" she asked and he nodded taking a step closer trying to kiss her. she put a finger against his lips and pushed him away slightly

"ah ah ah~!" a flash of her and mateo being in bed together flashed in her head and she blushed brightly 'its just cause your cold..' she thought and then looked up at the gaurd. he was looking at her confused and less zombie like

"'ey, howd we get out here.... miss you alright? your lips are blue.." he said and she frowned 'why did the spell break?' she didnt even have the energy to start humming again as she slumped forward against him.

"miss! miss!!" he said and she closed her eyes 'its so hard to breath...' she thought trying to take in a deep breath but it felt more like she was breathing through a straw.

"MISS!" he yelled when she didnt respond.

the gaurd came back to the chapel and walked to mateo leaning in to whisper to him "that girl... is she sickly? i think she... she.. may be ...dead..." he said pulling mateo to the side

Mateo jumped when the guard told him about a girl and instantly looked to see Freya gone. He ran out and foung her on the ground looking sickly pale. "FREYA?!" He ran over to her, cupping her face to see if she was breathing. "Freya are you-whats wrong?" He shook her trying to wake her, looking terrified and paniced.

freya tried to move to hold mateo but her hand only slide across the stone slightly not even outstretching for him. 'mateo... please help' her thoughts did nothing to help her

"oh god! is she diseased? look at her burned legs! i bet she has the plague! we have to burn her!" the gaurd yelled backing up patting down his coat

"there is no way im letting the plague spread through my home!!!" he yelled running out the door slamming it putting a board across the door to make sure they couldnt leave that balchony

freya looked up at mateo but was unable to speak, even her thoughts where messed up and jumbled

freya felt the scales appearing on her hips and she let out a final breath. 'at least he was here' her last thought made tears stream down her face. where the tears touched her skin became pink and rosey again next to the blueish ash color, even if it was just for a moment

Mateo saw the color leave her and the scales reappear and felt his heart sink and his stomach tighten. 
"Freya-don't-por favor mi amor." He said acting off of pure emotion and pulling her close. He kissed her forehead, and felt how cold it was. "please Freya talk to me. Tell me what you need.." He whispered feeling the pain catch his throat. He remembered her mentioning water, getting sick before without it and looked around him. The man had blocked the easy exit. That left the side of the balcony. He placed her down and went to the side looking over it. It was a good three story drop and the only way down? None. He looked back to her then moved to the door. It wouldn't budge of course to his efforts. He gulped and moved back to Freya, touching her cheek lightly to see issue would wake. Regardless he would tell her that he wasn't leaving her. "Don't worry Freya. I'm going to try and get us out of here. I'll be gone only a second. I promise." he said to her hoping she could hear him.

freya remained motionless even though her head was swimming 'hes leaving??? no!' she thought but couldnt move her body. the cold stone she was laying on felt like itw as sucking the very life right out of her and every second she felt like she was pushed further into the stone

the door moved slightly after a few moments of mateo being gone. the gaurd appeared and also a doctor and the head of that squad of gaurds. the doctor walked up to her with a mask on and touched her neck

"shes dead" he said and she wanted to protest but couldnt "looks like she had some horrible flesh eating disease. best to dispose of her so it doesnt spread." he said finally and stood up the gaurds walked over with a large sheet wrapping her up like a dead body tieing rope around her neck ankles and torso to keep the sheet from sliding

she was picked up and carried away from the stone "no... mateo..." the warmth she was given from the gaurds body alloud her to move her shoulder slightly. the gaurd yelped and dropped her taking a step back

"a-are you sure shes dead?" he stammered and the doctor nodded "yes my lad there is no way she could be alive! stone cold and no pulse!" he explained and the gaurd nodded picking her back up hesitantly

Mateo hadn't anticipated that his plan would have worked but, hell, there was a first time for everything. All those years of balancing out of the horizontal beams of the ship provided him enough good balance to cross the gap between the railing and the open window to the right of the door easily. When he got through he was about to get to the door when he heard voices. He hid behind the armor standing in the hall and heard the whole exchange on the balcony from the open door and window. Next thing he knew they were clalling Freya diseased and dragging her off somewhere. He took a step from the shadows to kick the guys ass that dropped her but was snatched back by a sudden hand on his shoulder. He let out a yelp of surprise, but a hand over his mouth stiffled it.
"Mateo,in trouble again I see." Arata said, making Mateo frown angrily at him.
"Let me go!" He started but it was muffled by Arata's hand. He shoved the hand away and wiped away the fel of Arata's hand from his mouth.
"I'm going to get her back-"
"And how do you plan to do that with 5 guards and one of you?" Mateo blinked, realizing he hadn't thought about that. "See you can't both end up caught."
Mateo frowned. "Why are you suddenly being so nice?"
Arata gave a shrug. "I don't like you but, Freya seems like an innocent kind of person. The kind I wouldn't like to see burned to death like a diseased rat." Mateo felt his breath catch in his throat at that idea and Arata rolled his eyes.
"Seriously, are you going to stand there and gawk or are we going to get her back?"
"We? What am I going to owe you for this?" Mateo growled and Arata huffed.
"Just passage to the next port over. I'll help you get her back, no strings attactched. Promise." The two looked at one another till finally they nodded. They followed after Freya, keeping agood dsitance as well as constantly keeping an eye on her. Where were these guys taking her anyways?

freya was still frozen as they walked with her "i dont know what happened doc, she just kinda went from a normal girl to this in a matter of hours! it was ... terrifying!" he exclaimed and the doctor nodded "yes my lad but its over now she is dead. though possibly still contagious, we should get rid of her as soon as possible. although we cannot be messy, if we burn her in the castle there is a chance of the ash getting to the king or even our quarters. no we must take her to the slums. it wouldnt matter much if there was an outbreak there, we will take her to where the bums rest and burn her there... possibly, we need to preform some tests! this disease could even possibly be resistant to fire! that is why we are going to my quarters to ... experiment." he said with a smile and the gaurd looked uneasy

"is this really alloud sir?" he asked and the doctor glared at him "you let a diseased women into the chapel of our soon to be king, you would be hung if this were to get out!" he hissed and the gaurd gulped and nodded "a-alright." he mumbled as they disappeared into the doctors 'testing' area.

Mateo felt his temper flare as well as his heart sputter when he heard them mention testing. Like hell he was going to let them hurt her any further, let alone burn her! Despite Arata's protests, he moved quietly into the testing area. He was greeted by a deep stairwell that lead into the lower depths of the fort, providing that the depths would hide any secrets this man was hididng. Mateo felt the sensation that he would be in more and more danger the further he went bu he needed to get an opening to get Freya before the tests began of course. He couldn't have them harming her, not now.
