Re: Dragon Age Origins
you didn't know that they were already working on DA3? They have been working on it for at least 6 months now, and are actually taking tips from Bethesda from Skyrim, bc Bioware supposedly loves Skyrim's setup. I could see the DA series turning into more of a trilogy since there is so much area to cover. I mean we have barely touched Orlais, and it is a huge empire on its own. I'm excited and hoping DA gives us more area to cover, I didn't care for being restricted to Kirkwall, and NO MORE RECYCLED ENVIRONMENTS!!!

Re: Dragon Age Origins
I know. I was more curious if the novel is prodding at material that will be on DA3. The part about them taking tips from Bethesda is a nice idea; just don't take advice on their glitches and lag issues. lol.
And yes. I could care less about the restriction of kirkwall despite how much I adore DA2.

Re: Dragon Age Origins
have you played the assassins dlc yet? It was pretty good. As for hinting at DA3, I'm not sure yet, I'm about half way through the book right now and Wynne is heavily involved along with her son. It has a lot to do with the mage and templar civil unrest, and more Seekers in this book as well. I'll give you more info when I finish it

Re: Dragon Age Origins
So I finished Dragon Age: Asunder and here are some
SPOILERS------------------------------------------------------------
It seems that we have a full blown civil war now between the templars and the mages. The Circle of Magi has broken off from the Chantry, and so has the templars/seekers of truth. Wynne is killed towards the end of this book, so it is fair to say she won't be returning anytime in the future...other cameos come from Leliana, who is an agent of the Divine as we all know now, and Shale, the big golem from the first game who helped Wynne throughout the book. They also discuss Kirkwall and Anders' involvement.

Re: Dragon Age Origins
Wow. Wynne dead? So no hints as to what DA III will focus on?
BTW, Dragon Age II got named as one of the disappointment of 2011. I disagree and agree for many reasons to both.

Re: Dragon Age Origins
The game is still a solid game, no worse than a 7/10 in my eyes. The characters really drive the universe, but I can see people's complaints. I think the biggest problem was that it was following DA:O so quickly and it's a middle game of a storyline, sometimes those types of games act as a bridge and suffer for it.
As for bridging the book to DA3, all I can tell is that we will see more of the Qun and a possibly war breaking out forcing you choose between the mages and the templars. I am just shocked that the Templars broke off from the Chantry along with the Seekers. Ballsy move.

Re: Dragon Age Origins
I have only played the game for 2 or 3 hours and all I can say is that it's ok but the combat feels kinda outdated. The one thing that kinda bothers me is the gore...it's not like I have an issue when it comes to it but why does everyone on my team have to be cover in blood after every battle and during cutscenes?

Re: Dragon Age Origins
lol cuz its gory, I didn't mind the combat, felt like MMO style to me, but DA2's combat is much improved and fluid

Re: Dragon Age Origins
White Knight Chronicles combat has an MMO feel as well but it still feels more fluid compare to Dragon Age's combat.

Re: Dragon Age Origins
I didn't have a problem with the combat, but I can see where others might. I think the story and characters however would easily make up for your opinion of the combat

Well, that's something that I'm gonna have to see for myself as I continue on.

well I hope you enjoy it, but everyone has their own tastes in games, and I know you prefer the JRPG realm more so...

Re: Dragon Age Origins
looks like they scrapped the expansion for DA2 and decided to focus more on DA3, can't say I blame them.

Re: Dragon Age Origins
DA2 is pretty cheap now so I might as well get it before it becomes a pain to find in stores.

LOL! I haven't played it since I made my 1st comment on this thread...I just been playing other kind of games rather than RPGs.

My characters are around level 7 and I would like to know if it's a wise choice to go on the Witherfang quest or not.

Re: Dragon Age Origins
what difficulty are you playing on? on normal or casual I don't think you need to grind at all, but on harder levels I would take a more conservative approach

Re: Dragon Age Origins
Yup. I was just wondering if I was wasn't strong enough to take on this quest since I'm gonna have to deal with the undead, evil spirits, possessions and a living forest so yeah.

I think you will be ok, what are you playing as, mage, rogue or warrior?
Also: what are your other options for questing right now besides witherfang?
