opinions and help

Ok so i'm still on my first playthrough of XIII (i know.... but i think i'm underleveled and i'm thinking of starting over)

my question is...... how many of you have upgraded your weapons?.... i've been following the guide and upgraded one of Lightnings weapons when it said that upgrading is going to be useful.......

the problem i had was i was only able to upgrade that weapon because the guide showed me how...... i don't really understand the whole upgrade thing.... i read and re-read the pages that explained it for about 3 hours... and still didn't get it....

so... my questions are....

• how many of you have upgraded?
  
• which are the best weapons to upgrade in your opinion?
  
• HOW THE HELL DO YOU DO IT?!...
  

i have upgraded some of my weapons, but to be honest i dont really like the system, why cant i just find the ultimate weapons by completing a quest like the old days?

I'm upgrading weapons as well. You can do it at any save point ! You just need a couple of items you can receive by killing enemies/finding treasures. (it's a little like kingdom hearts)

i know where you do the upgrades... i have done one... but i don't understand the system it uses....

according to the guide it says something like.... use x amount of a certain type of material then x amount of this type.... but i failed to understand that

I think it's mainly when your wanting better upgrades and then your using the catalysts to transform that weapon once it is fully leveled up. I haven't actually got to the stage of using a catalyst and using certain materials with my first play through, I may do it on my second run though. I only know that Lightning's Lionheart is her best weapon until you find her ultimate one I believe.

Axis Blade for Light
Taming Pole for Fang
Marlboro Wand for Vanille
Paladin for Snow
Pryocon's for Sazh
Hawkeye for Hope

how i did it you ask? no lifed the game

btw taintz all the weapons go to their ultimate form which is the same name.

ya instead you just have to find the catalyst material booo
