FFXIII Versus

Agito is supposed to be the same, I've looked into it and it's supposed to mimic the modern day mafia, starring Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum as the main character and his lover(?) Princess Stella Nox Fleuret from a different family. So it's somewhat like Romeo and Juliet, except I'm interested.

Has the release date even been discussed yet?...personally, I wanna finish XIII before thinking about Versus, but that's just me.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII takes place in a dark, gloomy unknown city ruled by a young prince named Noctis. He is fighting to defend the last remaining Crystal, the mythos that binds the Fabula Nova Crystallis compiliation.

Noctis owns a kingdom which is in the middle of a cold war with an opposing side. He has been seen battling troops which are presumably from his enemies fighting for the last remaining crystal, using multiple weapons ranging from lances to swords and even a machine gun to fight off the attacking hordes.

Later he is seen speaking with a girl named Stella, who is a part of an opposing nation also presumably after the crystal. The story is said to be much like Romeo and Juliet in that two people both members of opposing families fall in love. Noctis appears very shy around Stella but is not an "emo boy", as Tetsuya Nomura put it. He is also friends with a group of people showing classic Final Fantasy traits; a man with a gun, a man who will attack with his fists and an intellectual looking man.

Aside from his friends and enemies attacking him at the gates, another mysterious man is seen attempting to also steal the crystal. He has only been shown briefly, but wears a distinct white cloak and wields powerful magic. His allegiance is unknown at this time.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII has no solid release date, but development is well underway and gameplay has been shown briefly in scans which are sadly not of the best quality. The battle system is being designed by the Kingdom Hearts / Advent Children team, so it is fair to expect something a long the lines of the style of fighting seen in their previous projects. The city shown in the trailers so far has been modelled after real life areas in Japan and will contain elements of today’s world including issues like Global Warming. The story itself is heavily inspired by the works Shakespeare as quoted in multiple trailers: "Nothing is either good or bad but thinking makes it so" is a famous line from Shakespeare's Hamlet. This line is basically the notion that good and bad is a perspective of an individual. It is likely the game will deal with this outlook on things.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII is PlayStation 3 exclusive worldwide. Looks like this wont be coming to XBox360's.

Yeah there's more games coming out for the PS3 soon. XBox360 are making more of their games available to PS now, just like Dead Space 2

this game looks really promising, the combat looks great, and the graphics are amazing

Square Enix developer Tetsuya Nomura has advised fans that Final Fantasy Versus XIII, a new game about which little is known, won't be getting a release date any time in the near future. The report comes via Eurogamer, culled from an interview conducted between Nomura and Japanese gaming magazine Dengeki PlayStation.

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will feature party-based combat, Magic, Item, Summon, and EX-ARTS, as well as "a realtime event system that seamlessly transitions attacks and other gubbins into the flow of gameplay." Nomura asserts that this new system is taking a great deal of time to develop.

Though more specific reasons for the delay aren't revealed, the decision to do so apparently stems from Square Enix's desire to do "a number of incredible things" with the game. Whatever those "incredible things" turn out to be, he explained that development time on FF XIII Versus would exceed the time spent on other Final Fantasy titles like Type-O and XIII-2, which are both planned for 2011 releases. Nomura further clarified that the next official update about Final Fantasy Versus XIII wouldn't happen until this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which makes it reasonable to surmise the earliest possible release of the game is sometime in 2012.

I have to say that this game was waved in my face and I ignored it at first, but looking at the actual gameplay and seeing more of the terrain, I have to say the feel of it looks very Anime-ish, which is always a plus. I'm gonna get this game for my uncle's PS3, and I probably won't ever put it down.

You're telling me, I have two games already listed in my shopping cart, which is more than I usually get per year.

Two? lol I have about 6 >.< Which annoys the hell out of me because I'm a very busy mummy lol!

But yeah, I'm glad they're waiting till 2012. But I would've liked to have had it out before XIII.2 but it seems they are bringing out that one first before Versus. Oh well.
