Dissidia 2 Confirmed
Short on details at the moment, but Dissidia Final Fantasy: Duodecim was announced in a Japanese issue of Shonen Jump, it says that XIII's Lightning and IV's Kain will appear as the new characters, I'm sure everyone has wet their pants by now, but all we can do is wait. :p
System is probably still going to be PSP, but again, no details.

Re: Dissidia 2 Confirmed
honestly i probably won't get this game. I was disappointed with the first dissidia, it was ok for a while, but then it just got old and chaos is waaay to hard imo

Re: Dissidia 2 Confirmed
I took a piss in the toilet. I don't think that counts as wetting my pants.
I just looked it up. Seems there are some news that it might be for both ps3 and 360. Not sure how accurate it is though. If that's the case then Dissidia 2 might be a noteworthy game for me now.

Re: Dissidia 2 Confirmed
Pansies. 500+ hours, and I still spam it. Sad thing is, I'm still a n00b when compared to some of the real tournie players out there.
New info:
Brand new Assist System, you can allow one character from the list of choices to assist you in a battle, either to take the heat, or to pull off some serious combo damage.
Characters will all receive three costumes instead of two. This will please most people as long as they're creative. :p
Word is, Tifa will make an appearance as well. Keeping an eye out.

Re: Dissidia 2 Confirmed
I borrowed my firends PSP and played for the first time. It's a mix of hard and mediocre so far. I still don't understand some mechanics but that's only because I've played just through Zidane's story and half way of Warrior of Light's.
What I think the game should do is add one character from each Final Fantasy. I don't want to see nothing but FF7 characters make their way into the game. I knew Kain would make it without a doubt but I didn't see Tifa. Kinda interested in seeing her play out. Lightning (AKA Cloud with a literal pussy) not to keen on seeing, I'm not a fan of her but XIII was well liked so meh. If they've added Kain and Tifa, who do you think will be added with the other titles?
I'm thinking this:
FF1- No idea yet, there wasn't anyother conflicting characters aside from Garland so I don't think this title will get an extra character.
FF2- Guy, Maria or Leon. I think Leon would be a good one because of his contrast with the main party. Maria and Guy maybe but all three are awful characters.
FF3- Xande, the real antagonist of III. Problem is, he'd be an Emperor clone.
FF5- Gilgamesh is a must. Imagine playing the moron? He'd be his normal body with his lance for his normal fighting then he morphs into his real form in EX Mode. His alternative costumes would be his VIII and XII outfits, how awesome would that be? Plus he whips out Excalipur but does like 300 hits with it to make up for the 1 damage of each cut.
FF6- Locke or Celes. Either would be cool but Locke would be a Zidane clone probably. Celes could be the opposite of Terra as she uses more physical attacks than magical. If the two make it, that's be a good storyline to follow.
FF8- Laguna. This is witout a doubt a great choice. Laguna is a long range fighter while Squall is a close range so he works so well in contrast. Plus there are only long range magical characters, not physical. It'd be awesome to play him as he throws grenades and blows the shit out of people with Desperado.
FF9- Steiner or Vivi. I see Vivi as another magical fighter but he could be pretty different than the others and when he trances every spell he uses is used twice in a row for the Double Magic skill. Steiner would be a pure physical power house and who doesn't want to see Steiner *clank clanking* against some baddies? When he trances, his attack power sky rockets. Possibly seeing him as the strongest yet slowest character.
FF10- Auron, Yuna or Seymour. Yuna and Seymour were a consideration for X but got shut down. Seymour wouldn't have been Tidus' opponent anyway because Yuna has more of a connection to Seymour than Tidus. Auron would be cool and he could be trying to get Tidus and Jecht to stop fighting each other.
FF11- Never played
FF12- Eh, I think Balthier might be a choice but I have to see how Gabranth played out to see if XII really should get a major part rather the minor part it did before.

Re: Dissidia 2 Confirmed
XII is getting a stage instead of another character, they're putting in the Bahamut Ship in it, not sure what part of it, probably the interior on your way to fight Vayne, or the Undying stage.
@Cap'n, I think the game would lag like shit if they included characters from every series, awesome as it would be to see Steiner in real graphics, I think we're going to be sorely disappointed with the quality of Duodecim. Especially considering how little renown Dissidia got. I'm not sure what to think of the idea of a sequel yet, I was expecting one, but I didn't think it would be announced so soon.
According to my friend, all the characters get new moves, and Jecht gets a long ranged HP attack, should bump him up a tier or two. lol And apparently, Japan is releasing Birth by Sleep: Final Mix, soon and with Pre-order, you get a code for Cloud's 4th costume, and no, it's not his tranny outfit. Japanese get Cloud's KH1 outfit, which is basically a ripoff of Vincent.

The voice actor for Vaan tweeted that he had recorded lines for an upcoming Final Fantasy game back in May. I know Kuja's English lines have been done, and possibly the whole English cast as well. It's highly probable that Vaan will be in DuoDecim (Yea I didn't like him in FFXII, but I think his fighting style will be interesting, so I really hope they add him in and maybe up his rep a bit)
And I think I read somewhere that Gilgamesh and Sazh might be added as well, although I doubt Sazh since Lightning's in already, although I wonder if they'll add a villain for it. Dysley/Barthandelus? Orphan? Who knows with Dissidia

That's why they should consider putting it into a *stronger* console. lol! As I mentioned before!

Let me rephrase that. Make it multi platform.

Re: Dissidia 2 Confirmed
Only problem for multiplatform is Microsoft and Sony's love for making you pay extra for perks on their sites. It's bullshit to have to pay to use other characters, that's my real beef with the platform games.
If Vaan is in the game, I won't complain much, although I would still cringe to hear his emotionless voice.

Re: Dissidia 2 Confirmed
But you get a much stronger, better online experience, and way more perks, and better graphics. DLC's are big thing these days. IF you want em, buy em. If you don't, don't. Video games are an expensive hobby, you should be used to that, if not just stay with wii, psp, and ps2. I'm sure you have no problem being amused by their cheap prices.

Re: Dissidia 2 Confirmed
All I care about is story, I'd like to skip the gameplay if it were possible. If a book of Final Fantasy existed, I'd just buy it. Some games, I do admit play for just the gameplay. And fuck the Wii. What does DLC stand for? O_o
I'm actually looking forward to Tidus' 3rd costume, maybe they'll put Shuyin's outfit in, if I'm lucky.

DLC- Downloadable content

Re: Dissidia 2 Confirmed
well if you like it for the story, the stories in dissidia were pretty poor imo, i agree with erel, the only way i would give dissida another shot would be if they did a multi platform for a next gen console, not to mention these remakes that get released on the DS, that shit just gets old

I do, Nintendo's lineup has never let me down once
Also seen the trailer, it appears alot of characters have new moves (including Cloud who has this weird aerial meteor strike)
Re: Dissidia 2 Confirmed
Just looked it up some more info.
For those who don't know Lightning (13), Kain Highwind (4) and Tifa (7) have been confirmed plus all the original cast. The returning cast have been confirmed to have some new tweeked moves and will also have a extra costume.

And I imagine all the same painful voices shall be attached to the original cast...except for Keith David, he are god.
Re: Dissidia 2 Confirmed
^ Big fan of Dissidia voice cast
lol They may improve...
Listen to the difference in Robin Atkin Downes from Dirge of cerberus to No more heroes
From fail to appropriate.

Re: Dissidia 2 Confirmed
Robin Atkin Downes just had no clue as to how to play Genesis, so he made a voice right off the spot, if it were not for the accent, it would fit, Oliver Quinn was still a giant improvement. Same goes for his role as Luxord from KH2, without the accent, he might've passed for decent. Travis Touchdown of No More Heroes is the only role that I actually liked.
Dissidia was just a complete blunder of voices altogether, some of the JAP voices were far from appropriate pertaining to the character's personalities. However, I found them more of a pleasure to listen to, because I couldn't understand the lines, so I have no idea if they were appropriate for that specific quote.
Cecil is a great example as to how far and apart the ENG cast was from the JAP. From the god-awful, over/under-acting Yuri Lowenthal to the near perfect Hodoshima Shizuma. Only flaw Hodoshima seems to have is the shakiness of his voice when speaking a sad or dark line. Lowenthal, however has the same, exact voice for every role, so I was hearing Sasuke instead of Cecil. Not to mention, I did not ever imagine Cecil ever saying the line, "A spot of tea, for you, sir?" -_-
While on the other hand, Jecht and Golbez are examples of how much better the ENG is from the JAP. Gregg Berger and Peter Beckman played a much more convincing role of how both Jecht and Golbez are struggling with the darkness and the light. Whereas Amada Masuo (Jecht) and Kaga Takeshi (Golbez) played the same voice for both.

Re: Dissidia 2 Confirmed
When did Cecil ever say that? 8D that'd be hilarious...
But Gregg Berger is the only Jecht, and while I enjoyed Anthony Landor on the DS FF4 (possibly due to the pleasant echo from the studio) but Peter Beckman did a good job.
Keith David as Chaos was an obvious choice, so he stays.
Sure Johny Yong Bosch did the Same ole voice, but it was a solid voice-over (I'd rather him play Warrior of Light but use a deeper tone to show maturity)
(Personally I thought Quinnton Flynn would've been pretty good here)
Arron Spann is a new guy, and honestly it was appropriate to me because of the character's lack of experience. Could it be better? sure, but it fit.
Yuri Lowenthal was perfect on the DS remake, so was he bad here? Yeah, unfortunately this part was over-acted which puzzles me as to why there was such a difference in quality. The biggest problem is that he is instantly recognizable and doesn't have much differentiation between roles. And because of the fact that He was the voice of Sasuke, you hate any role that he plays. Dissidia wasn't his best role, look up vids of the DS, he was great there.
Jason Spisak, Really don't know where he came from but I'd say if he'd stop under-acting and (If god willing) dissidia had better direction, He'd be fine as Bartz. You need to finish FF5 to get a good handle on his Character.
Terra needz moar development and less pause acting.
Steve Burton, sorry bro but I don't think any could play Cloud better. I'd like him better if Square finally made him less mopey, but I digress.
Doug Erholtz, just because you like David Boreanaz better doesn't mean Doug isn't good. Remind me why you hate him, because last I remember, you had complained about how he whined and moaned all the time... I went through all his voice files and the only instance of whining was one of his loss quotes. (Sorry I can't directly quote right now) Squall is a Taciturn, He doesn't like people nor does he show emotion. He's a loner, and Doug got the Cold and Lonesome voice just fine. (Not to say there isn't room for improvement)
Bryce Papenbrook, Overall under-acted, and the fact that everyone wanted Vic Mignogna didn't help. Have him removed so He doesn't get a terrible rap from one spinoff.
The only Tidus in existence is James arnold taylor... Everyone knows that.
Villians later... this probably should have been posted in VA criticism, but the topic is current so bleh. Post is too LONG....

Re: Dissidia 2 Confirmed
i am referencing his unnecessary engrish accent. Cecil's dialogue didnt call for it, deep does not always equal, 'rue britania'.
Re: Dissidia 2 Confirmed
But He voiced just fine in the DS, so why did he change it?
