I wanna see Firions new playstyle
I've seen shantotto and she was vastly improved.
And Kefka was changed up quite a bit I hear.

Forgot what it was called, never memorized the names of the BRV attacks. No real reason to.

I'm not looking forward to an entirely new Firion playstyle, I'm decent with the way it's set up right now.

Its a decent style, but Firion himself is a very hot blooded and aggressive character, so it didn't really fit to have a defensive style.

Just cause they're hot-blooded doesn't mean that his style should be altered to fit that personality. If that happened, Dissidia would be waaaaay different.

Exdeath would be the least defensive if that were true...
seriously the guy survived 8 full blown beatdowns and turns into a splinter to pursue you and the void.
If styles fit the personalities, Shantotto would be shanking emos left and right.

The game needed balance, Exdeath was chosen out of all the cowardly villains for the defensive profile because everyone else were fighters and mages. I think the problem you have with him is his speed, which makes more sense than the defense. Exdeath was never shown to run at all, or even to show some kind of levitation so he was never given reason to move at any kind of speed. This played more to his defense, since tanks are slow moving.

I get that, but Firion, Ultimecia, and the emperor are defensive characters as well, and they can cross the map rather quickly, It didn't make much sense to move slow, besides, the only villain who really ever showed he could move swiftly was Jecht.

But that aside, Exdeath is fun to play as long its not dittos. I just wish he wasn't so defense dependent.
All the other characters can be played either way, I just hope the Cyclone move he got and the upped movement speed will make him more versatile.

It's interesting to see Jecht get so many buffs considering I almost never fail with him. Cloud is still unimpressive, and Ultimecia is looking all the more sexy. Cecil seems like he'll get bumped up a few tiers. :]

cloud has gotten worse...a lot of people are going to be mad that the climhazzards->slash blow combo is gone...that was what helped cloud out...but HA its gone...goood.

Cloud has only two good features, strength and Guard Break, both of which are wasted due to his terrible startup time. They also require EX Mode, which is tough to obtain if you can't hit the enemy.

Watched some gameplay vids of Jecht, Kain and Lightning. Jecht doesn't seem too different, although I blinked and missed Jecht Beam, seriously fast HP attack. Lightning seems a little like Warrior of Light with her BRV attacks, but her HP attacks outweigh his by a mile. Kain looks...awkward, some kind of mix between Cloud and Onion Knight, except his speed is right about in the middle.

Kain seems really bp focused, and people have said his HP attacks are difficult to land, but if you've seen people who know how his triangle dash works, he is oall over the opponent.
I'm sad that WoL's retarded infinite is gone, but He'll be pretty good without it.
Garland seems much more an aggressive fighter, and his DC combos were trashed so, He should still be ok.
It seems like shantotto will be better this time around, but manafont will sorely missed.

Kain is a BP rapist like seph and squall..so his Hp attacks would be difficult to land, though not as bad as Sephy though <<;

I'll enjoy having a competent HP game now, and although many of the cheap tricks I enjoyed, the game looks more solid and less ghey with teh infinites...

Though it seems aside from exdeath, defensive playstyles are gonna be hard to do. The game is faster with far more pressuring options. I pray that the game doesn't reward bum rushing too heavily. I'm also interested in seeing how assists can be used more creatively than just a follow up attack.

Just checked my JP PSN account and Prologus is about 300 yen, so that means when we get it, we're only expected to pay about $3.00 in NA. Not sure how that checks out in Europe. :/ Good news, though, I got $20 left over on my card, so I can spend it on something else.

This time the character sheets are almost filled out and we have videos to watch. So far...Vaan has improved in voice work, but not by very much. Kain sounds...absolutely opposite of how I imagined him, way too deep and just too boorish for me. Laguna sounds uninterested in his role, but it could be way worse. Hedy Buress is still playing Yuna, which is good to hear and Lightning is still the same. :]

Laguna's Voice actually seems to fit him imo, btw Desperado looks like to be an extremely strong Ex Burst

Kain sounds... awful by comparison to Crispin freeman and would have blown him out of the water.
Lightning is a reprisal, so it alright.
The old voices are all unchanged, so get ready to complain about Zidane some more. hope Exdeath is better (lolno)

The only reason I see Kain sounding like that is if he was interpreted as a brute. I do remember his being a douche whilst his mind was controlled, but still not that bad... Wikipedia was updated recently, and Liam O brien was removed from the list. Take from that what you will, but it wiki... They're both livable, and I'll probably end up liking it better when I have it. But the story is gonna have some 'splaining to do, before I'm satisfied with the voices. Keep in mind though, all of the quotes heard are taken out of context, and will probably be better once the game is out.

I personally could careless about the FFXI character, though they bare the name Final Fantasy I do not believe they should even be in the game. But again that is my opinion. But I can't wait to play as Laguna =D

Laguna should sound sarcastic, but fun-loving as well, I just get the feeling that the VA was forced into this role. The JAP VA was hilarious.

Kain shouldn't sound like a brute, in my opinion. The way I interpreted his personality is, in a word, conflicted. He should have a voice that would fit a person about late twenties, but determined and sometimes troubled. I imagine Crispin Freeman to capture this pretty well, and if Kain ever gets his mind taken over and shows his sadistic side, then Freeman would have been absolutely perfect. But, like you said, we'll have to wait before we're sure.

Well we heard only a brief part of Laguna's VA and it wasn't that great of quality to be honest << even if it was part of SE's main site. Just got to wait till it completely to come out to have a sense of everyone's VA. Though I do got to admit I wasn't expecting Kain's VA at all

As soon as the game comes out and I've beaten the story, you'll see another Voice Criticism thread on it. I'm dedicated to bitching over these people. xD

SE's main site isn't made for good quality, it's supposed to get the point across, and since it's the NA site, they aren't as dedicated to it.
