Dissida is latin for Conflict

012 is the cycle of the war (the last Dissidia was the 13th and final cycle)

Duodecim relates to the 012 but I dont know

So, if this is a prequel, I expect that we'll see some tragic deaths for all the characters, since the conflicts keep resetting and Sephiroth was rumored to have killed himself in the previous conflict. One thing I'm looking forward to, but not necessarily have any hopes for is a story or something relating to the first conflict and how this loop got started. It's vaguely hinted at in the Cosmos & Chaos Reports in the museum, but not really explained as to why.

I want Vaan to die a horribly painful death. By me. But guess what, Tetsuya Nomura is in charge of this fucking game. It's obvious he's going to contradict his already awful storyline with MORE PLOTHOLES. He did it to Kingdom Hearts, he did it to VII, what do YOU think he'll ruin next? I think XIII will be obliterated before Dissidia 2 is even released.

Yup, Kuja is rumored to be a hero in this game. No...just no.

He's giving what the majority of the fans want, and the majority of the fans are sequel-lovers, not to mention lovers of FF VII. Always go with the popular vote, that's the motto of any company, but the main blame should go to Nomura, since he's the spearhead and main decision maker. How exactly he became director is beyond me, his original job was just Concept Designer, part time writer.

How could you mistake Shinra with Bahamut...seriously, I can't think of a reason. O_o

New trailer for Duodecim, officially introduces the new characters and a glimpse of Yuna in the battle.

Seems like Jecht might turn out to be an antihero in this one as well. We see him passed out while Mateus speaks to Chaos and Garland, so I'm assuming they captured him and are discussing a punishment.

I didn't see Yuna until her feet were in the water, and that was all.

And, Call me crazy, but at 2:42 or something, when Bartz is talking to WoL. That place is very similar to the last part of FF:Crystal Chronicles, namely the trivia section with princess Mio.

And the Paper Mario style pre-emptive strike seems to be in play here.

Must be a way to cut across the world map and they just need to put in scenes. Or it's a piece of one of the stages and it has an inside to it.

Maybe it wasn't even a train, maybe it was the interior of the Lindblum.

Love the trailer, hate the Yuna tease but everything is looking awesome.

Can't believe neither of you have talked about Jecht being with the Cosmos lot at the beginning. Also I could spot Tifa but no Cloud, evil side perhaps.

It's most likely because, and I just figured this out, that this is the conflict where Jecht became a pawn for Chaos. It was hinted ovr and over that he once was under Cosmos, but with the Emperor saying for Chaos to pour his power into him, must mean to make Jecht defect over to his side. Just a theory, but I'm pretty sure it's right.

There are some updates to the battle system... I'm not sure how I feel about them, because they bum me out.

EX Revenge: Shown in the JF trailer, Now when you are stuck in combo and EX-blocknto get out, It slows time and you are given a large window of attack. The downside being that During Revenge You may not EX-burst... But you can still use HP attacks though...

Another thing was stated about the support's ability to block an attack, reducing the foe's EX-gauge to zero.

There was also something in the vaan fight about locking the opponent's supports with EX-mode, but the details escape me currently.

I like it, too many people (one of them) abuse the EX Revenge anyway.

So, does anybody else notice the pun in the possible release date for NA? It's most likely to come out in 2012. Get it? 2012, Dissidia 012???? *is blasted by Laguna*

In all seriousness, I don't see myself abusing the support system, never been one for Puppet Master Jutsu anyway. But it just adds to the pressure theme, which I avoid when not fighting computers.

The Train seems to be the Phantom Train from FFVI. Which is awesome because that's my favorite part in VI.

BTW Yuna is rumored to use The Aeons IXION, BAHAMUT and Shiva simultaneously to attack and her EX-burst will be Grand Summoning.

Some interesting little details taken from the temporary box art. This shows off Tifa's DLC 4th costume (Amato art) and slightly confirms that Leveling will be transferred from saves of the first Dissidia.

Another point to mark is that if you follow the link below to the original you will notice that Jecht is in the Hero's lineup. Of course we all know this by now but it's still nice to point out.
