A Pirates Life For Me

Hime sat there thinking and thinking before sounds or excitement reaches her from above.

she left the room to the deck to look out at the city letting it blend with past memories as her body became chilled looking out over the water. she was happy to be getting off the boat.

as if called Rei makes his way to the deck going to stand beside Hime as he looked away " sorry about this... if i had known... i would have protested... " he said.

Hime shook her head and sighed, " it wasnt you... i just was not feeling well adn took it out on you.. " she took in a deep breath and looked about to check for the others.

" dont worry... well be moving again and off this boat in no time " she said tugging his sleeve lightly as she handed over his coat.

Rei chuckled his face losing its serious mannor as his fear of her anger drained away in her obvious understanding that he had not put them in that spot...

freya felt her eyes blink open as she looked up at mateo as he spoke sweet words and laughed a little she rubbed her eyes and sat up leaning against him with a yawn

"que?" she mumbled closing her eyes slightly as she leaned into him again, he smelled much nicer then the horrible bed she had been sleeping in

Mateo's face turned a bit red at the first contact till she leaned into him groggily. He felt his heart pick up tempo and to be honest it surprised him at first at how warm she felt when he had to take her in his arms to keep her from falling off the hammock. His words, he had said he was unsure of what he felt for her...now he wasn't so sure. He wanted to kick himself and decided to continue as if nothing happened.
"We're in Port Charles. It's amazing you must come see it!" He said, mirroring an excited child as he pulled her to her feet and pulled her up deck. When he saw Rei and Hime he was all smiles again. "Come on, the sailor here said there's a nice inn here. If we get there soon then we can go find some fun." He said with a bright smile.

Hime turned much more somber despite Rei's much more relaxed mood looking at Mateo then at Freya and at there hands as she frowned.

" Yeah " she responded as she became irritation as hell for a reason unknown to her... hell it was not her business and she could care less.... there time was numbered as it was.

" fun sounds interesting " Hime said looking away before turning back to the city and away from the two.

freya still groggy nodded and followed him like a lost puppy as she rubbed her sleepy eyes

she blinked when she saw hime standing infront of mateo and her and she jumped slightly ripping her hand from mateo without even realizing it

"ah... yeah lets go" she mumbled and walked after them when they started walking

she bumped into a man and was knocked a little to the side. she groggily rubbed her head and looked up not seeing the group anymore. 'crap' she thought and started walking in the direction she thought they went. she got her dress stuck in the planks on the deck and tried to pull herself free but was trapped

"excuse me! senor? hola~!" she called but the men acted like she didnt even exist and she huffed

in her frustration she simply pulled the dress off and stepped out of it making a few of the men stumble as she stood in her underwear ont he deck "ahhh mucho bueno~" she cooed and looked to see a man with a pure red face staring at her

"Disculpa! ¿has visto a Mis amigos?" (excuse me have you seen my friends?)

the man sputtered and took a step back and she heard a whistle blow behind her. she turned to see men in uniforms also red in the face

"my lady if you do not put your clothes on right now we will haul you away for public prostitution! we simply do not tolerate harlots in this port!" he yelled and she folded her arms a spanish temper flaring inside of her

"Tienes mucho nervio! ¿Tienes alguna idea de lo que he estado por medio de los últimos días! Que estúpido vestido fue la gota que colmó! Es mejor dar la vuelta en estos momentos antes de que yo patada en el culo usted humanos estúpidos!!!" (You've got alot of nerve! do you have any idea what I've been through the last few days! that stupid dress was the final straw! You better turn around right now before i kick your ass you stupid human)

she screamed only making the mans face turn redder at her forgein flar and the fact that she had taken the corset off during her rant and had slammed it on the dock furiously

two of the men grabbed her arms and clamped them behind her back with metal shakles

"yes well..." the man said and cleared his throat "off to the jail house with her! step lively gents!" he said and tried to make himself seem less nervous around a half naked girl then he actually was

"mateo!!!" she yelled but they thought it was just another spanish word and ignored her

Mateo looked around the port in awe and pointed out things to Hime and to Freya who he thought was behind him. "Hey Hime, don't you think this place is so much nice than the other ports you've been to? Then again the French are a bit more imaginative than the English." He said, then gave her an apologetic look. He wanted Hime to smile, past his screw up. He didn't like seeing her mad or put down. When they reached the inn he asked the man for 4 rooms if possible near each other but he man said he had to check.
"If your stomachs feeling better then we can go and find a good place to eat-" He turned to say but paused when Freya was gone. "F-Freya?" He called to the hoards of people outside that had now blocked her from his view. "Freya!" He shouted, looking to Rei and Hime. "Did you see where she went?" When he didn't get a quick enough answer, he looked to the streets to find her. "Have you seen a girl running around here-" Everyone however ignored him while others couldn't understand him. "Ah, Sir-have you seen a girl, long brown hair, she speaks Spanish?" He asked an officer in uniform that seemed to be fixated on something not to far off in the crowd.

"geez did you see that harlot! nearly bared her skin for us all! such unholiness! what can you expect from the spanish-" a frenchman said to hsi friend walking past mateo

Hime turned her face still more like a stone as she watched him run after Freya...

she could tell that Freya was frustrated... but fine... despite there link seeming to have become smaller...

Hime sighed. it had been a long time since she was surrounded by water ... adn buy others that held kind feelings...

she shuddered barely noticing as Rei used a hand on her back to lead her to a foutain near by to sit in the shade.

" hime.... are you okay... " Rei asked unsure of him self in this... Hime was so calm... she had not tripped ... once...nore had she smiled or showed any emotion...

" yeah im okay " she said looking across the square about them " can... i have a drink... " she asked pointing at a small shop not too far off.

" right " Rei said " be right back. " Rei took off running to get in line, if he remeberd right the french had started making a drink cold Choco...late?

Mateo blinked when he heard the man and turned back to the crowd. Just enough people moved from his path that he could see a few heads, one of them an angry Freya. "Freya!" He hurried through the crowd but instantly was greeted by the sight of her down to her underwear in shackles. "A la mierda." He huffed and hurried over to her but ran into an officer.
"Officer, look I can explain. She's a foreigner, my cousin, and she speaks English very poorly. She is used to different customs and got so overwhelmed she ran off. Just please pardon her behavior, just this once." He asked, trying everything he could to come up with a way to at least get her out of a prison sentence or to grab her and run before they could regain themselves enough to start shooting.

A man in a dark alley watched the people that past by. His attention was instantly drawn to the couple have an exchange outside one of Port Charles's nicest inns then head over to the square. He could tell by the mans outfit, though dirty, that he was obviously from class by the demeanor. The woman he was with even seemed to be of money as well, though not dressed as fancy as the other, she still had an inoccent air about her. "Better go tell the boss about this one?" He said to himself, before fading back into the crowd.

Hime sighed feeling her body ache and her mind seemed so silent... she was starting to lose what was left her her mermaid self...

it was slowly draining away. at first she had not noticed but it was all but evident now.. seeing as Rei had just stepped into a closed wall Caffee with out Hime... her enchantment was warring off....

at first she too had been tall like Freya... all legs with light flexible cartilage bones... though from 2 years of land walking hers has shrunk with the heavy air about the land and become heavy and hard... calcifying with the calcium rich foods of the land.

she would have too tell Rei soon... so he could go home... sighing she turned to look in the fountain dipping a finger in the cool water as she continued to think....

Arata sighed trying to shade his blue grey eyes from the bright light of the sun. One more day, he should have expected that from a group of French portsmen from the north. If not for bad relations with his back up sources, he could have been on a ship or traveled by carriage by this morning. If not for bad relations with his original sources, he wouldn’t be in this mess. He wandered the streets in a bit of dark mood, not paying much attention to the people going about their daily lives around him. He noticed a vendor reaching across a cart to hand a man his wares and saw the bag of coins tied loosely around his belt. He gave the bag a swift tug and the knot easily came undone with little notice, and before the vendor even realized it was missing after Arata was gone. He kept up with the crowd, wondering how to pass his time when he stumbled upon the main plaza. Perhaps he could entertain himself at a brothel, maybe a find a group of men in a tavern to gamble with…that is if every tavern in the city didn’t black list him as a swindeling cheat. He huffed about to decide to just lie down and die of boredom till his interest was piqued by a pretty young lady by the fountain. He smiled slightly, a natural grin that came to him when he had an idea, before straightening his black hair and heading over to her.
“Hello, mademoiselle. It’s a fine day to be out and about, no?” He said, noticing she looked a little preoccupied and a little stressed. Perhaps he could…brighten her day?

Hime looked up at the man bothering her... did she look like she wanted to be messed with...

" no today is boring and i may just die from from it " she said turning back to the water dipping her fingers back in trying to give the stranger no mind...

" so.. yeah nothing here why not go away and do something stupid like harass another girl who wants your attention... "

Arata blinked. This girl was in a bad mood, and obviously not French. But he wouldn't let that bruise his ego just yet. "I apologize, I meant no harm to you...I was just a bit curious why such a pretty woman would be doing by herself in such a large, dangerous port?"

" testing fate perhaps" she said thinking of what Mateo said about her curse and his.

" im not alone... im simply momentarily unattended " she said turning to him her face emotionless as she took in the look of him.

he was not as stunning as Rei was in looks...but he did seem to have his own charm... " that and i am not a pretty woman " she said frowning.

turning back she looked at her own watery reflection with in the pool. " im a very horrible person to tell the truth..so for your own good and safety you will walk away "

Arata knew it was just his luck that he'd found the one girl in the area of Port Charles that actually had a bite to her...and wasn't alone. But he felt as though he'd gotten to the heart of something, making her a bit more interesting, regardless of wether that attendant of her's was real or not. He should have just left it alone but he had time to kill and too many enemies to count. Besides he couldn't leave a girl unattended right? He looked her over and noticed an almost purity about her, something odd for such a goergous woman. It usually meant they had money which wouldn't be shocking, seeing her demeanor and pale skin. He sighed and took a seat next to her. "Well I'm not very good at judging what's good or bad for me to tell you the truth." He said with a small shake of his head. "And I must say this," He gestured to her and raised a brow, "must be a very complicated lie." He said, describing that he didn't see such a horrible person infront of him. Call it just him being a flirt, but the girl looked pretty harmless. "Come on, you're idea of beating boredom is wandering around one of the safest ports in the English territory. You can't be all that bad."

she sighed looking up at him, " im cursed okay i have such bad luck death is too kind a fate for me" she tossed her hands up growling in frustration kicking her tinny feet making her over sized skirt flutter.

she paused stopping her exaggerated movement letting her clenched fists relax now in her lap as she looked over at him her face calm.

" sorry... the last few days.. hell the last 3 years have been hell. i would rather not talk about it or my self " she said changing tactics to try to get rid of him...

she then then looked about for Rei... what was taking him so long....

Arata was already begining to grow tired of her, tired but not quite bored yet. "Hey that's pretty severe assessment for a bit of bad luck hun. But sorry your life sucks." He said then rolled his eyes a bit. She wanted him gone and sure he would leave in a bit, he knew he wouldn't get anything from her anyways. "I can promise you mine is not fairing too well either." He muttered, the lack of accent in his voice making it strange when he suddenly muttered in Japanese.

Hime's interest was sparked when he used Japanese in his muttering....

it had been a long time since she had heard her language... " eh.... doko~ni Onii-chan?"(who are you?) she asked half suspicious half curious.

taking an honest look at him she took in his dark hair and pail eyes and smiled just a little bit," it has been a long time... since i have spoken Nippon(japanese)"

she laughed feeling her self relax before she heard Rei clearing his voice and then his rather irritated expression looking at the man sitting next to her.

" Hime... here try this... you will like it its called Choco~late... it is popular with french and English woman " Rei said handing her the drink before standing as tall as he could to better intimidate the man, " and my i ask who your acquaintance is?" he asked raising his brow.

(Gotta go for now, should be back on later tonight if something drastic doesn't suddenly happen.)
Arata frowned when suddenly she spoke back to him in his native tongue, surprised enough that he didn't worry about what all she heard. That's when a bigger obstacle approached. Or should he say a man that looked like he'd jumped off the palace run way. 'Oh you've got to be joking...' He thought a small smirk coming to his mouth as he got to his feet to play proper with the rich kid. "Names Saitou Arata." He said but to Hime then looked to Rei. "I was just a little worried about her being by herself in this place, it's quite dangerous for women to be by themselves... No disrespect, friend." He shrugged before bowing to Hime. "It was nice to meet you, Hime-chan." He winked at her before turning on his heels and taking his leave. 'So she hadn't lied about the company...bummer.' He thought but gave a small sigh of relief. A girl like that was trouble, and her obviously run away royal couple status would just cause more trouble for him. 'Now where can I get a good drink...' He thought to himself as he walked off into the buisy street. He brushed shoulders with a man that had been watching the exchange and got a small chill of some bad feeling. He tried to ignore the sense that something was off but he'd learned long ago that sense was one he should always trust. But why did it feel it had something to do with Hime....?

Rei grunted at Arata and moved to help Hime as she watched as he walked away.... he got irritated at this....

after all the things she said about men in general and here she is flirting with one when he turns his back.

" we should go to the hotel and wait for Mateo.... we cant go and get lost... like your FRIEND said its dangerous. " Rei said rather in a bad mood.

Hime got up taking a sip her face taking on surprise and pleasure " ah.... Oishi!( delicious)" she exclaimed happily to Rei in her relaxed state.

Rei could only look at her happiness feeling detached... latle he seemed distant from her. like they lacked a certain connection...

shaking off the feeling he managed to get Hime back to the safety of the hotel lobby to wait...

the officer shook his head "like it or not young man this is a place of class!" he said and stood inbetween freya and mateo and nodded for them to keep taking her.

after freya struggled they finally just lifted her off the ground and carried her the rest of the way

freya kicked and wiggled violently untill she was put into the cell and her cuffs taken off. she kicked at screamed at them spitting before they turned and left

she rest her head on the bars and slumped to the floor 'i dont understand what i did wrong...' she thought and felt like she might cry. mateo was right there and...

she sniffed and pulled the tears back 'no... he wanted me gone. he wanted to be with his prescious hime' she thought hot hate bubbling in her chest in the place of fear.

Mateo went to follow Freya but a guard stopped him. "This is a military governed port lad. Know that your stay here can be a nice one or a very bad one. If you get what I mean. Com-pren-de?" Mateo's eyes narrowed and he yanked his arm away from the guard. He had to get Freya out...somehow without endangering everyone else. He hurried back to the hotel, wondering if maybe Rei's political standing could help them. He walked into the lobby and instantly found them there. "You guys...we have a bit of problem." He said rubbing the back of his neck. Finally he sighed admitting that this was more than a bit of a problem. "Freya is locked up. We have to get her out of there before something bad happens to her." He said as he began to blame himself. He should have had an eye on her but he was too busy acting like a moron. And he just let her be taken away...What kind of man was he?

A soldier in charge of watching over the cells in the dungeon walked down the hall, a fluffy white dog trailing behind him. He was new to Port Charles and hadn't seen a place so up tight before. He passed by a cell and hardly noticed the girl within it. The dog however had his ears back and let out a yipping bark at her. "Quiet." He said but paused when he saw the girl. "Well well, what's a young girl like you doing here?" He asked in french, as the dog pawed at the door and whimpered at her.

"que?" she mumbled and lookeda t the dog her eyes squinting

"what is that thing... why does it make such loud noises?" she asked rubbing her ears from the yelping noise

Hime was with Rei when Mateo came back with news that was quickly becoming habit when Freya was mentioned....

Hime sighed irritation bubbling up to the surface .... she could not take this any more....

Hime shook her head and turned away from Mateo as she did her best not to seem over the top about things.

Rei got up and tried not too pick sides despite feeling a little sorry for him... when it came to Hime the saying "Hell hold's no wrath like that of a scorned woman... "

" if she is imprisoned.... there is not much that can be done... short of breaking her out.... even for me...in France.. well as an English lord... im not the favorite... " he said looking off.

Hime grunted and turned to Rei, " im hungry... lets go... " she said only peeking to look at him and then looking away fast.

she felt a stab of guilt hit her, though her anger towards his constant chasing of Freya was far greater. " we can get her out at this moment but as she is locked in she cant get into worse trouble.... so lets eat before i decide to have human for dinner " she said.

she did not mean it... it was simply a bed joke... besides in her state... she was lucky if her vegetables didn't fight back.....

Mateo felt his jaw tighten. Seriously, Freya was in danger, one of Hime's kind and she was more worried about food?! He was shocked, Hell, he was peeved. "At this moment she could be in greater danger in that cell than with us." He said, unable to keep the bite from his tone. He liked Hime, but he was really not in the mood to put up with this cattiness. Regardless if she was mad at him, for something he didn't even know he did. "Thank you Rei." He said to Rei and cut a glance to Hime. "I need to do a bit more digging to see if there's a way to help Freya." He said, "You two go and enjoy lunch..."

The guard blinked at her accent. She wasn't french. He squinted in the dark and noticed she was darker skinned. "It's a dog. You've never seen one?" He said in english, not knowing her dialect. But even if she was foreign how could she not have seen a dog? He sighed. "He's suposed to help keep prisoners in order." He said, sternly at first but still felt the sting of being rude to a woman in a half clothed state that was remarkably beautiful. "But he's a total lap dog. Wouldn't hurt a fly." He said and the dog yipped at him, it's tongue lulling out. "You're welcome to keep him for company...if you promise not to tell my superiors." He said, with a small smile. .
